    Hello,
I have a problem with the ESP / ASR and electronic brake error lighting up

The car is a 2007 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.8 petrol

After starting the car, ESP lights pop up and a handbrake error (which can still be deactivated and activated) and the engine is in emergency mode

After 4-5 attempts to turn the car off and on, the lights disappear and the car drives normally. If I leave it off for a few minutes, the problem returns

After reading lexią codes from abs pump, displays ECU communication: incorrect value recived (invalid data)

When I enter the electronic brake, there are no errors

Replaced the brake light sensor but no changes

Check engine errors. they will cause ESP and brake awries.

You do not see an electric brake error, only with it (red light with an exclamation mark) you are informed about a brake system failure, so you should stop driving, and the ESP lights up in orange.

Question: Does the ABS also light up?
Have you been doing something with the brakes lately? There is air in the system?

    ABS does not ignite
Recently bought car, after visual inspection I can see that there is a new brake pressure on the back

According to the engine errors as suggested by WBART, the recurring errors are:
P1153 - Motorized throttle valve programming. Failed in the low stops - Intermittent
    P0121 - Throttle / Pedal Position Sensor "A" Circuit Range / Perfomance
P0597 - Thermostat Heater Control Circuit / Open (The latter cannot be cleared, the first two come back when there is an ESP and brake error)

It would indicate a throttle, but I replaced it with the second one of the working car and the replaced one works flawlessly in the latter, so I ruled out

Correct motor related problems and there will be no brake faults. In cars equipped with esp and electric brake, engine errors are treated as incorrect data from the engine ecu and the systems that are needed at the torque moment fail. The rest of the abs is reporting you incorrect data from the ecu

It's good to know where to look, thank you for the hint because it indicated another reason.

Tomorrow I will trace the beam from the throttle and the gas pedal sensor, maybe I'll find something there because the throttle has been replaced.

Do you think that this error that I can not delete (P0597 - Thermostat Heater Control Circuit / Open) may be the cause of these two concerning the throttle?

Rather, the thermostat to be replaced and when the air conditioning thermostat fails, as a rule, it does not turn on either.

Do the tests and it stopped whether it is damaged because it costs a little.

    Hi
Today I replaced the thermostat and one of the errors disappeared, but it did not eliminate the defect
Throttle errors P1153 and P0121 still return
Since I had previously replaced it with a stimulant, I started looking for another reason
First, replace the temperature sensor and the crankshaft sensor.
I checked the wires going from the throttle to the ECU
Replaced gas pedal from another working car (due to the sensor on it)
I changed the intake manifold to make sure it was not broken
I checked the timing or not, because the engine heats up quite a bit, as if the ignition was overtaken or late (but ideally set on the marks)
Eventually fitted a new throttle but still unchanged
I have no ideas what else I could check
    Have any ideas?

    Problem solved at last!
The cause was a leaking engine temperature sensor which caused coolant to seep into the ECU connector
It was enough to clean the connector and the problem was gone
    Thank you for your help

that's not enough .. You have to change this sensor, it will be liquid again. Defective sa. You can damage the engine ECU like this.

isn't it enough to change the handbrake cable?

Hello, I have a similar problem, so I do not set up a new topic, I also had a Christmas tree on a board related to esp / abs / asr and a gearbox after restarting the car, everything was ok. The diagnostic program showed a right wheel sensor error, I replaced it and everything went crazy, including speed old and it was ok, of course, until ... so I bought another one and the speedometer shows the correct values, but I do not want to disappear the abs / esp / asr / i error of the gearbox and manual. On the old sensor, the car freaks out from time to time and the new problem is non-stop - do you need to calibrate this sensor with Lexia ????

Hello, like a few people, I have a problem with abs / esp and handbrake And the lights come on exactly, after scanning, the abs sensor error right front came out, I replaced it and nothing helped, the errors themselves go out and pop up again once in a while And now several times a day, and even after the exchange, a test drive was made with the computer connected and the right wheel does not read, A in the left one shows 700 km / h. Can anyone help ??? Thanks for the hints
Forgot to add a car is a c4 grand picasso 2008 1.8 gasoline without gas

Hello, buy an original ABS sensor and the car will be like new :) I bought replacements twice and returned to the store because they didn't work! They were not Chinese, but the most expensive sensors that various companies had in the store for almost PLN 170. I bought the original and the car started to spin normally! I also had the right front fired.

Thanks to the problem solved after 3 hours, it turned out that the sensor was good only under the sensor, the rust started to push it away from the teeth, so the sensor did not count the teeth ?

    Hello

I connect to the topic I have a similar problem every now and then the manual i / Esp light turns on (photo connector) plus the word service in orange, we are fighting with the mechanic, but the replaced cubes sensor under the pedal does not help much, the sensor under the pedal generally runs ok when throwing an error only what the hill start block is missing, then it does not work and sometimes there is a problem with manual lowering (normally electric is on). Do you have any ideas where to look ???

    Hello
My car is a Citroen Berlingo Multispace r2010, 1.6 petrol I have a similar problem, namely the ABS / ESP lights are on, the exclamation mark (!) And STOP the car was in an authorized service center, they found that the ABS sensor was dirty and cleaned it, then they did a test drive and found that everything It's ok, errors cleared .., after the service called the inspection at the Dealership, the car was not driven for over a week, after a week it happened that I went to replace the tires and when I came back these alarms came on again as I wrote above .. after reaching home I turned off the engine and in 10 minutes I turned it on again, no alarms do not turn on, so the question is why they appear while driving and then disappear ?? in fact, when I was replacing these tires, it was raining and I do not know if puddles and rain would affect it ??
I am asking for info because I do not know what to do or go to them again? or look for some other mechanic who will advise and solve this problem
Thanks in advance and waiting for info

Hello. Could you please let me know where I can find the ESP module in the c4 grand Picasso. If anyone has a photo and descriptions of how to get to it, I would be grateful.

In August I changed the bellows, in July EGR, now brake error ... maybe it has something to do?

Hello, I have a problem with my C4GP, I'm betting on the servo because there's a hissing noise and when I press the brake pedal it goes away, but I still get these errors, could it be because of this? Citroën car display showing warning messages about ESP/ASR, ABS, handbrake, and directional headlamp faults.

I'd start with the harness, pull out the battery and underneath, by the wheel arch somehow went that thick wax, which is generally a problem. The cables are rotting, the insulation is coming off. I've already sold my paddle and I'll say I feel a bit sorry for it, as it's a nice car, only it has various fumes.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2007 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso experiencing ESP/ASR and electronic brake errors, leading to the vehicle entering emergency mode. The user reports that after several attempts to restart the car, the warning lights may disappear temporarily, but the issue recurs after a short period. Diagnostic codes indicate problems with the throttle position sensor and thermostat, which were addressed through component replacements. Ultimately, the root cause was identified as a leaking engine temperature sensor that allowed coolant to seep into the ECU connector, leading to erroneous readings and faults. The user resolved the issue by cleaning the connector and replacing the faulty sensor.
