    Hello,
from recently I had a problem with random problem with firing up the engine. Randomly it would catch the first time or after a few times.
Now the situation is that I have a problem with firing the engine all the time, it only fires up after a few, several attempts.
I connected the computer and in the engine diagnostics I have 2 errors:
    P1693 IMMOB. TRANSPONDER ERROR
    P1696 IMMOBILIZER AUNTH. FAIL

Does anyone know if the errors relate to a problem with the immobilizer module or if they relate to the immobilizer cube in the key? I wouldn't want to invest in an extra key if the problem is with the car, and vice versa...
I should add that I currently only have one key so I can't check the 2nd key :) .

Drive up to someone who deals with car keys. They mostly have a transponder reader, if it passes the test on the reader several times then you have a job on the car. I think they will do the check for free.

I have not been anywhere, but I have talked to several such companies and all of them unequivocally state that the transponders in these keys either work or not 0 or 1. There is no option that they work randomly. So the problem is in the car.
There is a lot of information on the internet that in these cars they like to break down the antenna at the ignition (below is a diagram) does anyone have any idea how to check if it is really the antenna without buying and changing to a new one

This is exactly nonsense. I myself in my private car had a case that the transponder once worked and once did not. And the antenna itself is simple to check - measure with an ohmmeter whether it has any resistance. And the second way (checks the antenna and, in part, the immobilizer itself) - http://programatory.pl/tester-petli-immo (you can probably find somewhere cheaper). Anyway, the problem may not be in the loop itself, but in the plugs or wiring from it. Nevertheless, I would suggest driving up with the key to someone who has a transponder reader.

Hello, did you manage to solve the problem - I have the same and don't know where to go with this. I talked to an immo guy and he said that you need to find a professional with an immo tester for Hyundai - know anyone?

Has anyone found a solution? I have a similar case to the author of the topic. Checked all the transitions from the diagram above. Ground supply everything is there. After replacing the coil at the ignition, the car started to fire up however every now and then it would jam again. Now it can no longer be fired up. The engine computer I can see that it was opened and there was something messed with, however, according to the owner's assurances it happened recently and the car has been running without problems for 3 years since he bought it. I do not see emulators on the market for this cartridge(bosch 0281015990). I'm slowly thinking about buying a starter kit because I don't know where to look

I can ship the immo off in the controller and it will be over the problem.

You need a transponder tester and an immobilizer loop (antenna) tester.

If after swapping the keys the problem disappears, then to replace the transponder in the key.

Don't cripple the car. It can be repaired without any problem.

It was cut by the manufacturer with such a grandfathered system. It's nice when under the house you will not fire up worse when you are on the road or abroad. There will be a lot of crying. Let your friend do what he wants. You have to be very lucky for someone to want to steal such a car. Get it out of your system and if you are afraid for it, put your alarm.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2010 Hyundai i30 experiencing intermittent starting issues, linked to immobilizer error codes P1693 (Immobilizer Transponder Error) and P1696 (Immobilizer Authentication Fail). Users suggest checking the transponder in the key and the ignition antenna, as these components are often problematic in this model. Recommendations include using a transponder reader to diagnose the key and checking the antenna's resistance with an ohmmeter. Some users report success after replacing the ignition coil or swapping keys, while others consider disabling the immobilizer as a last resort. The importance of professional assistance with an immobilizer tester is emphasized.
