    Hello,
I have become interested in the subject of "smart homes for the poor" :P i.e. using devices from BroadLink or Orvibo.

Does anyone on this forum have experience with these devices and accessories?

Basic question, in order to manage over the internet e.g. BroadLink peripherals you need to have RM2 PRO?
The way I understand it is that I connect via the net to the RM2 PRO and it already connects via infrared or radio waves to the other components. And what if the RM2 PRO does not reach certain locations? Can a repeater be fitted?

In general, it seems to me that the following things could be controlled without any problems:
    - lighting
    - power supply to sockets
    - appliances such as TV
    - air conditioning
    - closing and opening of water/gas valves?

In addition, thanks to the camera/motion sensor, certain things could be automated, e.g. a "Night" profile could be created and if, at night, the sensor detects movement in the hallway, it would switch on a soft light so that people could pass freely.

In addition, there are also gas/carbon sensors and could it be done so that if the sensor detects gas, among other things, the electro-valve closes the main valve in the basement and opens the blinds on the windows?

I haven't found much information on this subject in Polish, there are foreign ones but generally not technically well documented.

If anyone is using this, I would be grateful for an answer here as I would be happy to ask a few more things.

    Best regards.

    I have a xiaomi.
But their policy has changed a bit.
The kit could be bought for $45 now the control panel alone about $30.

And I'm thinking about the broadlink.

Xiaomi is an ease for flats. But so far cheap and extra perks e.g. the control panel is at the same time radio, bell, and light.

If xiaomi doesn't open up to developers and make similarly to broadlink programming available for everything then I think I'll switch.

    Orvibo makes no sense.

From what I noticed here they recommend what assemblers can make money on :)
And no one will make money on xiomi. You buy it and don't even connect it just stick it to the wall.
    ------------

In broadlink you have a mother for about 40$ RM2
And a second control panel for air, dusk etc.
    In practice you buy both.
Then you buy 3 more IR strings for the TV room for 15$

    The xiaomi is similar.

Of course, if you do not reach somewhere you buy another control panel :)
In both you program whatever you want.
At night, for example, a PIR detected by me switches on a light.

You can buy any zeegfree sensors for broadlink. As for gas, I would take a ready-made broadlink control unit.

However, the system is still free. So you can buy a 220V control unit for as little as $7 and light switches for $15.

What this system does not have are cameras. It has 1 model for the cosmic price of $100

Xiaomi for $100 has a full rotating HD for $30 a nonrotating 720p.

The only problem on xiaomi is the software.... part Chinese stamps and jw still no support from Russian brothers to hook up other RF devices to the control panel.

As of today apart from these 2 other systems are meaningless to me.
    Unless a typical control panel

    =============
If the russians eat xiaomi then there will be nothing to think about.
For now at $45 it really was the best ready made one on the market for flats.
I have their other stuff in one app.

    Xiaomi
    +E.g. coloured bulbs $20 white bulbs $11 12 sockets $11
    +they make desk lamps
+battery system so you don't install cables
+everything possible except IR is built into the control panel. I.e. leds, radio, bell, RF, Wifi etc

-The system lacks software that gives full zigg free control.
-Consequently, many devices are still missing.
    - the smart strip compared to broadlink does not manage every output.

    + broadlink
    +You can control everything
+The smart strip from bradlink has each outlet controlled separately.
    - you don't have a light
    - you have no loudspeaker
    - you have no bell
    - you don't have a radio.

Here's the weather and gas control panel I wrote about:
