    Hello everyone,

I want to play around with automation in my newly built house,
Such systems in companies are very expensive,
here I was wondering about WAGO modules:
    my assumptions are:

budget is 4 thousand for hardware (without peripherals) and soft,
    kNX system,
possibility of remote login via internet,

Questions for those with experience on WAGO modules, how much does the software cost so that I can play around with this system without any problems, ?

I was considering Siemens but it is more expensive on the other hand I have a lot of experience on siemens,

Just asking for answers from people who have experience on WAGO KNX,
    Regards
    Peter

A well-chosen CPU will allow you to run a full system over the internet (I even have such a CPU on my desk at work but can't remember the symbol for the hell of it). In my opinion, WAGO is the only thing from the industry that works well at home. However, a budget of 4k is not much for PLC based automation (even in the slightly cheaper form offered by WAGO). Let's say a CPU is an expense of about 2k. The remaining 2k (with luck) will allow the purchase of 2 16 Di cards and 2 16 DO cards. That's why I'm using a lot of cheaper hardware from Atmel to build my IB :-)
    PS
and have you seen the VIPA hardware?

Good, I haven't seen this VIPA miracle wow, visually it looks like a Siemens, most interestingly they write that it works under step7,
    Interesting option

Modules for Wago can be found for pennies on ebay. 2xDI/D0 for 2 euros. You can buy this in stock and if you find that something is causing problems replace it. There are unlikely to be mission critical circuits in the IB, so if you suddenly can't light one bulb, I don't think the world will collapse.
I haven't got my build up and running yet, but I've been playing around with my Wago 'dry' and I have to say I like the path I've decided to go down. But the fact is, the prices of the new modules are some kind of mistake.

    I still recommend http://edom-plc.pl

I checked on ebay.co.uk. The auction titles are in German so I guess that's good.
I sorted by the word WAGO and from the lowest price.
The cheapest I found was of course the end module - 44 pln - already converted by ebay.
The cheapest 4DO module is exactly the same price - 44 pln.

To sum up, I was interested in the Siemens Logo 8 can be extended with KNX network, so I stay with this I managed to buy on ebay.de this model at a fairly affordable price, but the budget for the entire automation 4 thousand I see that a bit low, although for the beginning I can not go crazy must still be enough for kitchens and bathrooms),
