Hello! I have Internet with PLAY I wonder if I need an antenna? I live in Zielona Góra but somehow I am not happy with the download speed. now at 6 am the speed is 10Mbps in the evenings 2 to 4Mbps. The router always has 4 range bars.
Attach photos to illustrate and lay the terrain.
I have about 450m to the transmitter No. 1 and there are practically no obstacles, No. 2 is a distance of 950m a block stands on the way, No. 3 is a distance of 1.2 km and is obscured by buildings.
    Which antenna would you recommend?

I also have internet at Play and I use the antenna from http://all-ant.pl It can be ordered with cables of any length and appropriate connectors. I have about 500 meters to the transmitter and I can easily reach 20 Mb / s.

What were your speeds before you mounted the antenna? You have to set it up somehow, I mean the precision of the setting?

Before connecting the external antenna, the highest speed in favorable conditions, i.e. at night was about 6 Mb / s, and usually from 3 to 4 Mb / s.
Regarding the positioning of the antenna: if you can see the base antenna from the roof, you aim at it from this two pipe and that's all :D

Don't consider the advice that smells of spam from a distance. At 500m from BTS-a LTE1800 redundant antenna, signal parameters sufficient to reach maximum speeds. The increase from 4Mb / s because probably not 4MB / to 20Mb / s is bullshit. Colleague @ pcx I suggest learning units instead of spamming. You have proper LTE signal parameters inside 450m and low speeds are the result of BTS LTE1800 Play overload which you use. Improving the signal will not change anything. Transfer the card to a phone with LTE with the Network Cell Info application, take a test at home and outside. The NCI application will show the LTE signal parameters and the BTS data you are using, do speed tests. Show screenshots. Then go to these 3 BTS Play and do the same in turn. Tests for your apartment to connect to the same sector. You can check how LTE internet works with the correct signal on these BTSs and how they are loaded. After CID you'll see which one you connect to at home. If it turns out that the other two are less overloaded, buying the antenna makes sense to force connection with the least-charged. Also test those on Gorzowska 2 and Wyspiański 13. Apart from LTE1800 and LTE2100 licenses there is LTE2600 and if it works, the speeds will be much higher and NCI will show CID after which you can confirm LTE2600 on them. Screenshots after tests. If you decide to use LTE1800 with less loaded BTS and if it is nearby, you will need to buy an antenna. This is a dual LTE1800MHz directional antenna but not such an invention as with al-ant. These cannons have circular polarization and Polish operators use oblique and such an invention is not suitable. Using an antenna, you force a specific BTS, lie in different directions. Unfortunately, but the B593s-22 on this FW does not have the option of forcing LTE bands, nor does LTEWatchH or Toolbox work with it. Bandwidth enforcement is a useful feature, especially on Play, which uses LTE1800, LTE2100, LTE2600 and LTE800. in your area there is still LTE2100, although Play has only 5MHz bands in MIMO and DL up to 37.5Mbps, but it is less loaded. The fastest is LTE2600 with 20MHz bandwidth in MIMO and DL up to 150Mbps, but you have to BTSs and the signal is weaker, so you will always be logged on the router from the machine to a more powerful LTE1800. If the LTE2600 permission at Gorzowska or Wyspiański would work, you would have to force the LTE2600 band on the B593 and use the antenna at 2600MHz. It was then required to change FW to B593s-22 to one from Telia with LTE band selection options. But this is a more difficult matter. first make tests on your phone at home, outside and under Play BTS. Show results.

Thank you for your comprehensive answer. Today I will do everything as you said.
Now I just want to know how to find the transmitter after CID. Now I'm at work and for example I did a screen from the NCI application and I don't like CID with what the BTSeaech website shows. This transmitter on the site has quite different markings than what the application gives, unless I look badly?
As for Gorzowska Street, this location is falling due to the location of my apartment, I have limited access in this direction, but I will check because it may turn out that it will be the least loaded transmitter.
In the afternoon I will try to post everything you wrote about.

Oh, one more thing, does the application give the transmitter overload value somewhere, or just suggest a spidtest?

You won't identify BTS Play yourself, it's not an easy matter. But if you do tests of those nearby and save their ECI from Cell Info networks, you compare it with at home, you will know which one you are connecting to. Higher UL than DL and low RSSNR are indicative of overloading,

Okay, I'm after initial inspection. The case is as follows.

The transmitter closest to me, i.e. at Maria Skłodowska Street, is located on a 10-story block. I stood about 150m away from him standing on the hill, no obstacles.

Transmitter on Wyspiańskiego St., placed on a low building. I stood less than 100m from him, no obstacles.

Home connection with LTE1800 Play BTS at Maria S-Curie but with a second sector (20 at the end of ECI). Under BTS with the third (30 at the end of ECI). The one with you (20) is massively overloaded, low DL high UL. You will not connect to the 30 which works as OK. The best result on Wyspiański on the third sector, BTS as normal. On Gorzowska, the connection with LTE2100 and assumption of speed lower by half than on LTE1800. To sum up, you can force connection from Wyspiański on the Dual LTE1800MHz antenna with a narrow angle of radiation. It is worth checking out BTSs of Energetyków 7 and Heroes W.24 and even Dabrowski 41 and Batory 126. Then you will have a complete picture of LTE Play in your area. Always stand in the direction of your home (this is your sector). a little bit of westernity but it is so with mobile, the number of users is not the same and on BTSs and even on sectors there is different load and speed on them. The directional antenna allows you to improve the signal parameters and if the BTSs are in different directions force the connection with the one that gives the best speed. Because BTSs are relatively close together, they must have a narrow radiation angle and be set to BTS. Inventions like these cannon-pipes are not suitable for this. They are spooky birds and dubious home decoration, not an LTE antenna with angular polarization.

Damn, now I understood what these sectors are about. On Wyspianski I was not in my home, so the measurement can be distorted I probably caught the wrong sector. I will do it again today. Gorzowska falls out because I do too much on the way, or I can visit Energetyków yet it also seems to be available. The rest fall off because of the terrain and the buildings.
So the matter is slowly clarifying, the one closest to the terribly overloaded, there is still a new measurement on Wyspianski and Energetyków and we will have a clear matter. Thanks for the great commitment!

Could you give some examples of suitable antennas? I am at work now, I can read a little about them.

For example, that speed does not always go hand in hand with signal strength. With my antennas, I have a much weaker signal than you

A friend above has already made me aware of it.
    Waiting for some antenna suggestion.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around improving download speeds on a Huawei B593s-22v router used with PLAY internet service in Zielona Góra. The user reports low speeds, particularly during peak hours, despite having a good signal strength indicated by four range bars. Recommendations for external antennas are sought, with one user suggesting a specific antenna from Cybertech designed for LTE1800, which can enhance speeds significantly. Other participants emphasize the importance of testing different base stations (BTS) and sectors to identify the least overloaded connection. The conversation also highlights the need for precise antenna positioning and the potential for signal overload affecting performance.
