Hello. I have two disks in my computer, both with one partition. One is Windows 10 and the other is Windows 7. I wanted to make the W7 not have access to the W10 disk (the other way around, yes). So, being logged in to W7 in the W10 disk properties (in this case D) from the security tab, I completely blocked access to it for everyone, and the disk was blocked as I wanted. The problem is that after returning to the W10 from its level, I also do not have access to its own disk, which is systemic after all. I have no way to unlock it now because none of the systems has access. What can I do now without formatting it? Please help...

Run some Linux live cd, he has windows powers (ntfs) in his nose.
You should also understand how to remove permissions.
Possibly a reset from a windows terminal.
    prompt
    icacls d: \ path_to_folder \ * / T / Q / C / RESET

I have already tried this but I have Access Denied (running with administrator) so I can't reset anything. How to restart windows permissions from linux?

Fire up some of the newest Knoppix and you get everything on your windows, you don't have to know anything.
Ew. check the attachment from this page.

If it doesn't work from windows then safe mode + pkm and run as administrator.

It already exceeds the forum rules :sm31:

This program only executes the CMD commands that I already did under emergency to no avail (access denied). The same with this program.

As for linux, I fired knopixx but as I thought, I don't know what's going on with it. I have access to files, it's obvious, but that's not the point because I don't want to recover them, but fix them so as not to format the system. Granting Linux permissions (chmods) is not that either. So how do you remove the windows ones via linux? I can't find anything about it online. I have no more ideas.

I changed owners and it worked, after a few combinations. That I hadn't seen it before either ;)

    Thanks a lot

Topic summary

A user encountered an issue with dual-boot partitions where access to a Windows 10 disk was blocked from Windows 7, resulting in both systems being unable to access the Windows 10 disk. Attempts to reset permissions using Windows commands were unsuccessful due to access denial. Suggestions included using a Linux live CD, specifically Knoppix, to reset NTFS permissions. The user struggled with Linux commands but eventually resolved the issue by changing the ownership of the disk, restoring access to the Windows 10 partition.
