Yes you must enter your VIN and configure it for your equipment.

First of all, you still need both modules.

UEC exchange when you want for what you want

After replacement, it is necessary to log in UEC, which consists in deleting the previous VIN and entering your own and configuring your car equipment.

I will meddle with the topic after a few years, but both are right. UEC does not have a pin code, but only in cars with a rear REC module. Cars without a REC in the trunk have a pin code in the UEC. 100% sure and tested.

I do not know what it depends on, but in Asterka I have a PIN request in both UEC and REC.
You will replace the element and the car does not burn.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the UEC (Universal Electronic Control) module in the Opel Zafira B, specifically regarding the process of mentioning, coding, and appending the module. Users emphasize the necessity of entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and configuring the module to match the vehicle's equipment after replacement. Some responses clarify that while the UEC does not require a pin code in certain configurations, it may do so in others, particularly when a rear REC (Rear Electronic Control) module is present. Additionally, users note the importance of ensuring that all necessary fuses are in place and that features like daytime running lights may need activation post-installation. Overall, the consensus is that while some coding is required, the process is generally straightforward if the correct components are used.
