    Hello.
Recently, I am the owner of my first car, which is Opel Vectra B. I am very pleased with the car because it works as it should and did not cost a fortune. I bought the car from an honest person who told me everything, and we wrote a contract in which the seller is responsible for all hidden defects, which he did not mention when selling. In general, the car was purchased as a training for me so that I could gain practice in driving. Getting to the point, together with my dad, we replenished all liquids, and made initial inspections and maintenance. I have already driven the car, drove over 100km in total and everything works and works as it should. Unfortunately, there is one problem that we have already been informed from the seller. Namely, the ABS indicator and the airbag are constantly lit on the dashboard. The seller bought this car from a consignment and was informed there that the sensors were replaced and all you need to do is reset the errors. I don't know how much truth there is, but most often the culprit is a sensor or something like that, and prices for efficient used parts are not expensive. Personally browsing the Internet, I found information that the airbag indicator sometimes illuminates through some contact from the belt tensioner under the seat. I intend to check it, but even if it is the culprit, this error must be removed. And here comes the problem, my version of Vectra B is 1.6 Gasoline from 1996. with a power of 101km. The question is, how can I remove errors? I mean exactly a cheap way of clearing errors, because I do not intend to go to the service from time to time and remove errors if it turns out that there is a fault and the lamp will light up. From what I know and checked, my vectra has an OBD II port under the manual, which is not fully compatible due to the year of my car. I borrowed this Chinese shit elm327 mini from my friends. I played with this trash and tried to connect with my car with millions of programs using bluetooth, unfortunately for nothing. And anticipating the questions, with the ignition on and even with the engine running. I even tried programs designed mainly for Opel. As for this elm327, I can order a non-mini version, a normal one even with a USB cable, connect to a laptop and play with various programs, just a question, will it work? Is there any sense to buy it? If not, how will I be able to clear errors in my vectra for a small fee? I read a little and I know that Opel is very picky in this respect and does not want to connect with such devices, probably due to the different arrangement of the pins. Maybe someone knows some cheap and compatible with Opel equipment, because my dad also has Opel, only Insignie from 2011, and the knife may be useful to him sometime. Thank you in advance for your help :)

    Search for OP-COM.
Without reading the errors you can look good.
ABS can shine due to the lack of speed signal from one wheel and the cushions most often through a non-connecting plug under the passenger seat - most often a sliding seat.

The cheapest that can handle both of these cars is Opelscanner Can for PLN 800. OP-COM PLN 3300.

    Thanks for all the information.
The point is that at the beginning I would like to check if the seller was wrong and all you need to do is remove the errors, maybe the fault has already been repaired.
I still have a question about Opel Techa 2 USB with Allegro for around 70 PLN, is it worth it?

This Tech is without CAN so it will work only with Vectra.

In the case of ABS, certainly not, the indicator itself will go off as everything works as it should. Only with SRS is it not go out until the errors are cleared, and after each move the chair can light again.

Max PLN 30, because it is the same as the cheapest VAG.

As for ABS: check the fuse under the steering wheel, which is indicated on the housing which exactly. If it is removed or blown, the light is on. If it's OK, look at the wires near the wheels, maybe one wire is not connecting. As for the pillows, the cubes under the chairs do not connect. At Vectra Club they write to cut cubes and solder stiffly and you have to clear the error after this procedure.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the persistent ABS and airbag indicators on an Opel Vectra B after sensor replacement. Users suggest using diagnostic tools like OP-COM and Opelscanner Can to read and reset error codes. It is noted that the ABS light may illuminate due to a lack of speed signal from a wheel or issues with the airbag connection under the passenger seat. Recommendations include checking fuses, inspecting wiring near the wheels, and ensuring proper connections for the airbag system. The effectiveness of cheaper diagnostic tools, such as Opel Tech 2 USB, is debated, with some cautioning that they may not support all functions required for the Vectra.
