Because the parking brake works like a disc-drum on the rear and jaws. The mechanism is the same as in almost every MB - linings attached to the anchor disc, at the bottom a spreader connected to a rope, at the top an expansion screw with adjustment. As with steel wheels, it is enough to unscrew one screw for adjustment and locate the expansion screw with a flashlight. Use a wide, flat screwdriver to turn it until the lining is correctly positioned. If the mechanism has never been moved, it is often necessary to unscrew the caliper, remove the rear disk and disassemble and lubricate the mechanism components, only then to make the adjustment.

Thanks for the hint, today I will take on this adjustment, I have alloy wheels and discs on the back, I probably have to throw off the wheel and look for this adjustment as you say at the top with a screwdriver and the same on the other side of the wheel because I understand that the adjustment is separate for each wheel.

Hello. A colleague described the manual adjustment well for you, I want to add that there is one more adjustment in the vitku. It is under the car in the rear part, in the place where the cables spread to both wheels, if the cables have never been replaced, they are certainly stretched and even tightening with the adjuster at the jaws will not help. If the adjustment at the jaws does not help, look for where I wrote, there probably is a key nut 13 there and try to shorten the stroke of the line, if it will not help replacing the lines with new ones. Best regards and I wish you successful regulation.
