Hello, I have a Kiano 7 slim tab 3 Gr tablet with android 5.1.1 and I would like to change it to android 4.4 for Root.
I tried everything but it is impossible to rotate this version, apparently there is no rota on this Android and as I read there is also a problem because the tablet is on the Intel processor
and these do not really allow any changes.
And my request, could someone guide me through this process?
The current system is using my batteries terribly fast despite turning off many applications
in standby mode, it can drain the battery in 6 to 8 hours.

Is it really the fault of the software and not the battery?

Probably not the battery, the tablet is about 5 months old, besides, it is itself
    turns off on standby.
Built-in applications are very power-hungry, not very much
I care about him, I would like to rotate him to defeat him
what they stuffed into it, but I need to change the version first
    android.

Rooting on this tablet is possible and not difficult. There are basically 2 ways. Unfortunately, when rooting, a rather specific problem may arise in starting, turning on the tablet. A screen with green, red lines appears, as if there was text underneath them, and each letter is a painted square. Unable to read anything - and it appears permanently. Only pressing VOL + or VOL- starts something, you don't know what. VOL- and then again VOL- after a while - goes into typical Fastboot mode.
Launching the tablet is clicking on VOL +, waiting and VOL-. I don't know what's going on there, but there is such a problem.

If you are interested, I will collect this information and describe it to you. I have already rooted 3 of these tablets and unfortunately they were all the same. But once you run it, it all works beautifully. Just because of this condition, you won't restart it normally, you have to do some random 0 operations :)

In that case, use the guarantee and not go ahead.

oeriel, thanks for the answer of course I'm still interested so how could you describe how and what i would be grateful for.
There is also an advice that I should give this tablet under warranty, just let the adviser try to contact this service, good luck.

    What problem?
You fill notification and within a few days a courier will come for the equipment.

Listen - I know that Kiano is generally a 0 dream company :) The reviews are terrible, but this is a cheap tablet group (not only), and so is Lark. They sell equipment that is not really profitable to repair. Whether they are making problems, is it taking a long time to repair or there is a problem with contact, it is a matter of every company and their policy and will. Aside from the topic - recently I was advertising Cruciala's SSD, like a top-shelf company, but contact with them is nothing, the solutions to the problems are ridiculous, so ... Kiano, it's not a tragedy - it's a matter of chance. You can have the same thing in mobile phone showrooms when you return. Everyone wants to earn ...

Kiano has its weak and cheap models. However, the Slimtab XGR editions are just their company sticking, these devices are made of better components and structures. For example, such equipment cannot be "unleashed" or broken. Yes, I know what I'm talking about. It's just so constructed (GR series on the SoFia prock) that even if it falls, there are 2 ways to banal resuscitation. Unless you run it over with a tank and break it, it will still run 0 :)

But ... it's your business and decision 0 :) As for rooting, give me some time. I want to put it together nicely, with the files so you have everything on the tray. I have one Kiano 7GR, so I will do it and describe it on it (it will also be useful for others). Only for this moment I have a little confusion with my daughters at home, so ... 0 :) please be patient.

Another important question for you. Do you have a green screen when you enter fastboot mode? A bit like a rug, with patterns, as if the screen did not read it well, as if the resolution did not match.
You can easily get to the fastboot: Turn off the tablet completely. Wait a few seconds to be sure and while holding the VOL- (volume minus) button, press and hold the POWER button. When something appears on the screen, let go of POWER, but VOL- hold it. You should get a green screen, if not, please take a picture 0 :) It's very important 0 :)

If you have a problem contacting the service, you can always return the tablet to where you bought it and they will hand it over to the Kiano service.

oeriel I did, you wrote and a green screen appeared.
I use this tablet mainly as a navigation monitor, but also for the Internet
but what if the battery lasts about 1 hour, is b high battery consumption by some applications despite being blocked somehow run in the background.
I think root would take care of it.

After all, in standby, all applications that have been started and not stopped continue to run. So only the screen falls off :) .
Remember that rooting will void your warranty.

I have described everything in general. I assume that many things are obvious to you, but maybe someone else will want to use it, so it will explain what he is doing and what is going on 0 :)
Unfortunately, I do not have pictures or screenshots at my disposal now, so a text description must suffice ...

Subject of operation: Tablet KIANO Slimtab 7 3GR
It will probably also work on the other Slimtab XGR editions. It is important to have "3GR", because there are also "3G" versions and that's something else.

    A warning first:
    - you do everything at your own risk. It does not guarantee that everything will be as described here, because each hardware may behave differently and even have a slightly different version of the software.
    - rooting the equipment is tantamount to loss of warranty,
    - while rooting the tablet may be, or even rather, will be completely wiped, so if you have any files or settings on it, make a copy of yourself
    - after rooting, tablet may not start properly. Symptoms: After switching on, the KIANO logo will appear (blink) and you will see a few red, green lines, as if filled squares with text. It is not known, maybe something can be turned off so that it does not appear, but the tablet will stand on this screen.
Pressing VOL- will refresh this screen, but clicking VOL- will take us to the fastboot (green carpet).
However, to launch the tablet on this screen immediately after turning it on, press VOL +. He should go on without helping him.
I do not know if it is some kind of security or what, but after rooting there are such symptoms (I had this on 4 tablets). Its Chuwi Vi7 counterpart has the same.

    0. Basic applications
adb-ver-root.zip - ADB with disable-verity option - not every ADB has this. ADB with all files for root
kiano-st73gr-adb-drivers.zip - tablet USB drivers - if it doesn't work, run the package below with a plus
    kiano-st73gr-adb-drivers + .zip

    1. Unlock the bootloader
    A. To unlock the bootloader, you must first access the developer settings. We do this in:
    About tablet >>Build number .
Click on this field several times (7) until the information that we are a programmer appears.
    B. Then, near the information about the tablet, the option " Developer options "and we go in there
    C. We turn on " USB debugging ", turn off options" Verify applications via USB ".
And very important - we enable the option " OEM lock photo ". In twin models this option may not exist, so then it should be omitted. In KIANO Slimtab 7 3GR there is and it must be turned on.

    2. Then connect the tablet to the computer.
We check if we have all the drivers (in the device manager there should be no exclamation mark next to the device).
We run ADB. We unpack the file adb-ver-root.zip and after unpacking, go to this directory, hold SHIFT and click the right mouse button. A context menu will appear with an option and the message " Open a command window here ".
    We enter in it:

    Code: Dos
Log in, to see the code

When the tablet restarts, wait about 30 seconds and enter further:
    fastboot oem unlock
or if we want to approve immediately:
    Code: Dos
Log in, to see the code

Some message may appear here, probably confirmation. I had it once, not once. Then I clicked VOL + / VOL- and he kept going.

    After entering:
    Code: Dos
Log in, to see the code

    it should appear: Device: unlocked

    3. We clean the cache - otherwise the tablet may not start or it will turn on with a lot of errors:
WARNING! At this point, we clean up all the data we had on the tablet.
    Code: Dos
Log in, to see the code

4A. NOTE - here we should upload recovery. I have working, but there is a problem or security feature with this tablet. In recovery and fastboot mode, the screen displays red, green stripes, as if painted bars with text, fastboot mode is also completely green, as if a rug on the screen, as if the screen did not have an adjusted resolution. This happens in every Kiano Slimtab, even when taken out of the box.
However, I omit this stage, because even if we upload them, it will not help us, because we will not see anything. For example, in TWRP we could use a special package and simply continue to root the hardware or make copies. Unfortunately, we won't see anything.

4B. We start the tablet normally, until it loads (without any mode, only USB debugging should be enabled) and enter:
    Code: Dos
Log in, to see the code

We wait about 30 seconds for it to start. As if it did not start because the screen error described above appeared, you should help him.

    Code: Dos
Log in, to see the code

    5. Then we run:

    Code: Dos
Log in, to see the code

    then enter:
    Code: Dos
Log in, to see the code

After reboot, it should update 2-3 applications and root is ready. We can check it with the RootCheck application installed on the tablet or any other application.
If there are any problems, write.
You don't need to flash an older Android to root tablet 0 :) And the problem with the battery, maybe it's a bigger problem, because for me it can withstand several days in standby mode (although it is still working). I have 2 models and let's say a twin (Teclast) which is slaughtered by my daughter. Only he does not have a radio but has a Dual SIM.

    Good luck!

Hi, It's June 2022 now and I came across this discussion by accident - I have the same clunky 1 hour Kiano and I was hoping to find a simple way to revive it somewhere.
Did the method prove to be useful, is it worth digging into this rooting? Or is there any simpler, compromise way to make this Kiano useful for something?

    Greetings
