    Hello
While recently cleaning up computer junk, I found a DVB-T USB tuner. It seems like no big deal, but considering that I haven't been watching TV for 11 years, I felt like playing a bit, just for sport, by no means the need to watch commercials and propaganda.

I will probably pick out a bi-quad antenna, but I could use some DVB-T signal meter and here two questions arise:

    - I have a DVB-S signal meter somewhere in my head, can it be used to measure DVB-T?
    - is there any reasonable free meter under WInXP that will show something more than signal strength and quality?

    Greetings...

Probably PLN 30, used exactly once and it has been lying in a box for several years.

With basic information: dBuV, BER, signal / noise, spectrum is about PLN 400-450. Cheaper you won't find anything usable.

It's now from another barrel ...
In the DVB-T tuner support programs, signal strength and quality are only shown after decoding a specific channel.
Is there any program that shows only the signal strength of a given MUX?

This USB receiver can be such a meter - most installation meters are simply consumer receivers with added software that shows the parameters (in addition, they are pre-calibrated but their accuracy is usually within a few dB).
It would be good to check what demodulator is used in this receiver and look for access to the diagnostic part.

    Thanks, I'll search.
I still have a question on what frequency to make a bi-quad to receive MUXs 1,2,3 from the transmitter Częstochowa Wśmieyca or possibly Katowice Kostowy?

    DVB-T finder

Search engine for the nearest Polish DVB-T and T-DAB transmitters. Searches for transmitters based on GPS or a given address. Additionally, it displays a map and a graph of the height dependence on the distance between the transmitting antenna and receiving antenna.

The program operates in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The PCM-1210 is a Combo meter, if only DVBT / T2 is needed, the TM-600 (Digitsat) is cheaper.

the appropriate biqad thread can be found on the Emitel forum is quite detailed with formulas for the right frequencies - I myself use this for the frequency from the transmitter in my area - a few pieces of my work work in different parts of the city with family and friends - not conspicuous and doing its own thing

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the use of a DVB-T USB tuner, with the user inquiring about the compatibility of a DVB-S signal meter for measuring DVB-T signals and seeking free software options for Windows XP that provide more than just basic signal strength and quality metrics. Responses indicate that a DVB-S meter cannot be used for DVB-T, and while basic USB receivers can function as signal meters, they typically require specific software for detailed diagnostics. Recommendations include the Digitsat PCM-1210 and TM-600 meters for DVB-T/T2, with additional resources for antenna design and signal measurement software mentioned. The user also seeks guidance on constructing a bi-quad antenna for specific MUX frequencies.
