I have a question for you, namely, if I share a folder on a Google disk by sending a link, there are restrictions on the number of people who can pick it up. Mainly I mean whether if I paste, e.g. here in the forum or in the footer, a link to a shared folder, are there any restrictions. On Google, I read only that the restrictions are up to 200 people if shared publicly not via a link.

How to share publicly and how via a link?

Read this: Google Support regarding file sharing

And here is an important quote for you:

    Quote:
    1. A maximum of 50 people can simultaneously edit and comment on a file.
    2. Over 50 people can view the item, but additional users will not be visible. If you want 50 or more people to view the file, publish it or create a new link.
    3. You can share the file with up to 200 people or groups. If you want to share a file with over 200 people, you can add it to a Google Group and then share the file with that group.

However, the most important thing is that you can set most restrictions if you share a file with people who already have a Google account.

only that these conditions are for Public file sharing. In the option of sharing it with anyone who has a file link, there is nothing to mention.

What is the difference between public and link sharing?

I do not want to introduce any restrictions, I want to provide a link on the forum and that everyone can use my specific files, not just 200 people.

And in general, it was more about sharing folders and not files https://support.google.com/drive/answer/7166529?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform=Desktop

Where there is no information about restrictions

Share the folder and check if it works.

If you want, I can call Google and ask them. I have a business account with them and I'm an admin, and I don't know the answer myself, because I've never had such a problem. However, they may not give me a solution because business accounts operate on different conditions.

From what I've read, only public sharing of a given file or folder is subject to these restrictions.

PS: Okay, from what I heard on the phone, files in private gmail accounts are automatically set to public sharing with the restrictions I wrote above.

This is a protection against Google server overloads (I think).
However, you'll never know about restrictions unless you try to share a link to your file or folder.

    I checked and works.
The question is, how do I share giving the link will be limited to 200 people who can download?

The problem is that until you check it out, you won't know. If you have set the folder public, these restrictions will work for sure. if you don't and you only share the file via the link then the answer is one: "I don't know". You have to try it yourself.

The person I spoke to was primarily familiar with business accounts. Private accounts, she told me, always have a limit of 200 people.
