I was able to turn on the printer without this error. I checked it several times and it is repeatable. it is not suitable to give the printer to the client, but it can be useful for your own needs:
The display shows error 5B00 (the lamp blinks 6 times).
    1. I turn the printer off
    2. I press the red triangle and hold it down and press the printer on.
    3. I release the triangle button, and now holding power I make this sequence:
I press the triangle (the jam indicator lights up), press the triangle (the jam indicator goes out), press the triangle again (the jam indicator lights up), press the triangle (the jam indicator goes off) then release the power button and the printer starts without error. you can print on it, enter the menu etc. Everything indicates that the printer is operational.
The problem occurs when the printer is turned off. the printer will not turn on for the second time. you have to pull the plug out of the socket, wait a moment, then it will turn on but with this error. If I turn it off now and repeat the procedure, the printer will be fully functional again.
Now the challenge is to keep this state. I will be grateful for any ideas. I unscrew the printer and clean the "pampers" and see what happens. I do not see any sensors here but it can help.

Buddy, it is in this printer that entering the service status will be as you enter it. If you start the printer from the power switch, the error will still be unresolved. For its solution, I recommend you look at the alle-expensive portal from eg No. 7025114699.

As I wrote earlier, I intended to clean the waste tank and I did it together with renewing the cartridge in this tank. So I am aware of the risk of overfilling the waste tank. The smallest problem would be a stain on the desk, it could also lead to short circuit etc ...

    Hello

As far as this Canon model is concerned, when you enter the service mode after 5 buttons with a triangle in a circle and the power button does not start flashing, and the display does not illuminate, it means that the service mode is blocked. At this point, even WicReset will not help us just replacing the motherboard.

I know that the use of the Service Tool is tragic for this model when it comes to trying to reset the absorber. Unfortunately, I do not know how it will be when trying to check the consumption, I rather do not want to try.

Here the question arises whether we are able to see the state of absorber consumption after replacing the motherboard. Has anyone ever tried the Service Tool program and what were the consequences?

    greetings

So I was lucky that I succeeded.

I would post that the state after replacing the motherboard will be the same as in this disc is saved, there are no sensors in the absorber, the lifetime of this part is described for me as a counter of reprinted pages. So many pages printed, the absorber should fill up and the system on the motherboard stops the printer.

I agree with that, obviously. I'm interested in how full the pampers are. Is it possible to get this information in some way or just wait until the error pops up when the absorber is full?

    People,
if you do not want to be stuck in you every day, never buy this damned thing! I - moose - I bought two G3400, which for a year never worked properly (in two separate companies / networks). There is always a problem with it, and sometimes it is simply impossible to print anything - either through the network or even on the cable. Sometimes the printer drips "that's it" and prints a forgotten document from half an hour ago. Sometimes nothing. One big problem - just a mistake: for almost a year I have been fighting with ill-fated equipment, instead of printing (as I have done for 30 years on every printer). I will look for a purchase invoice, maybe I can give it back to the producer ... (I do not want to see it anymore).

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around accessing the service mode and resetting the waste ink absorber (pampers) for the Canon MG5650 printer. Users share various methods to enter service mode, including a specific button sequence to bypass error 5B00. Some mention the use of the WicReset program, which successfully resets the pampers for the MG5650. However, concerns are raised about the potential blocking of service mode due to using incorrect service tools, which may necessitate motherboard replacement. Users also discuss the challenges of monitoring the absorber's fill level and the implications of overfilling, emphasizing the importance of proper maintenance and awareness of the printer's operational status.
