  • !! The program only works with windows XP. N newer vista types, 7 don't send commands to printer.
    Below is the service program.
    It works with Canon Printers:
    * The model list may not be complete.

-Checking the filling level of the diaper.
-Changing the filling level of the pampers from 0 to 100% with an accuracy of 10%
    -Checking the software version,
    - Thorough cleaning of the print head,
    -Resetting printer settings,
    -Restoring factory settings,

    - EEPROM read / write

The program in version v.2000 is a new version that supports newer printer models such as: Mg5150, MP280, ip3600.

Starting the printer / switching to service mode
Pampers can be reset, but not by windows 7 or viste (do not try compatibility modes, etc.) Windows xp home edition + drivers from the printer disc. The printer is put into the service mode:
    1. Turn off the printer (not from the power supply, just press the power off button),
    2. (We do not disconnect any cables from the ttp printer.)
3.Press the red triangle and quickly press the power button.
    4. Let go of the triangle, wait 2s. and press the triangle button 5 times
    5. let go of the power (the printer will make sounds [head, roller, etc.])

    * The procedure for entering the service mode may differ depending on the type of printer and software version.

Now the computer will find the canon device. If the system asks for drivers, we ignore and do not install any drivers.
We run the program - the service mode works.

    Clearing the diaphragm level
We click first Test print (just do not forget to insert the paper because the printer will print a sheet (there will be a nozzle test and info.) I recommend that you put 5 A4 sheets (5 in the upper tray, and 5 in the cassette (lower tray).
Click the marked two buttons below from left to right with an interval of 30 seconds. or when we see that the printer has already performed an action. If the program does not respond, wait up to 2 minutes. When the printer prints
    D = 000.0
    We have a deleted pampers.
The printer is turned off with the power button on the printer.

    Unfortunately, neither of these versions
    1. Elder - V1.0.7.4
    2. Newer - V2.0.0.0 (same as above, but without "weights" in the archive)
    3. The newest - V3.4.0.0
does not detect my IP4500 in win XP, the program is completely inactive. I also tried with other versions - the effect is similar, there is no USB information about the device. Does this mean that the canon IP4500 cannot be diagnosed programmatically?

Thanks for the info. I have a service manual with a function table. However, for me, clicking and counting is troublesome, so I was looking for a program that would handle the above functions. Below I am attaching the service for IP4500. Service options and access to it are described from page 15 of this.

I have tried to use the Service Tool on the MP600 although I don't know if any Service Tool version supports MP600. If the printer is in Service Mode then all Service Tool functions are disabled. However, if the printer is in standard mode, it gets error code: 006 in the Service Tool.

Am I doing something wrong or is there just no ST support for the MP600?

Definitely this error "pops up" after the reset: /
I have done and printed a printer test using the program (after putting it into service mode) it looks OK, after turning it off and on, it prints normally, but next time it is turned on, its yellow "STOP" light blinks 5 times and printing is not possible: /

The printer refused to obey, and there is no way to go into service mode.
When I want to print, an "operator error" pops up, the yellow "STOP" LED blinks 5 times: /

    Added after 34 [minutes]:

I was able to put the printer back in the service state (I took the heads out, cleaned and put it back in).
Unfortunately, only the "TEST" button works in the program, the printer outputs the messages "Error 002" and Error 001 "for the described activities.

Have any of you dealt with the MG5650 printer? After entering the service mode (cancel + power + cancel 4x) the printer is invisible under win 7 64bit. I get a message that new hardware has been found, but no driver has been found. Service tool shows error 006. I wonder if it's a windows 7 issue? Or, in this case, Canon applied a specific limitation against trying to reset pampers etc. My problem with this printer is that I get error 5B00 and I am looking for a solution to it. I am asking for some info on this matter.

I found that when pressed 5 times it invokes service mode, but unfortunately I tried service tool 3400 on win 7 64bit and it crashed during test print. I had to turn the printer off and on. After this procedure, the service mode does not start anymore. The yellow LED with an arrow lights up. Does this mean that this is the end with bringing the Canon MG5650 back to life?
Is there still a shadow of hope?

Ps: I have two such printers with the same problem.

The printer was fixed for a month. After fighting the self-resetting cans, I finally saw all the colors, phew.
Now try to print and zong: 'Error number 5B00, An error has occurred etc ...'. It has already popped up for a few months but it could be erased.
Now the message turns red and just cancel printing!
What can I do with this? I can't find any codes for this model!

7 times Ink absorber full [5B00,5B01]
The ink absorber is supposed to be full.
Error codes: 5B00: Main ink absorber is full (overseas).

    1) Ink absorber condition
    2) Part replacement: - Ink absorber kit
    3) Ink absorber counter value in the EEPROM; reset the ink absorber counter.

    Dodano po 1 [minuty]:

Do wykasowania tego błędu jest potrzebny Service Tool.

Thanks leeart. I fired on the eight ST V3.4.0.0. Unfortunately, I had to set the service mode on the disconnected printer, otherwise still Error code: 006.
In service mode it went but most of the 'buttons' gave 002 but Test Print and EEPROM were printed. I used this website https://translate.google.pl/translate?hl=pl&s...ce_mode_47_tool00_for_print_tool_for_printers
I also have a question, what does the last Ink Absorber Counter tab give (0-100 percent to be set)?
By the way, I uncapped the head :) Deep Cleaning button - it was also active (I had problems with magenta all the time). After restarting on a working printer, a few more times quick cleaning and print test and the text came to normal and stopped smudging :) )
Printed documents in the attachments - did not want to save to a file, maybe something else will come out.
Thanks a lot and best regards.

Hello, I am still struggling with the 006 code in the service tool, there is no communication (I think) with the service tool ..
How, buddy (above), did you set the service mode on the turned off printer?

    I have a canon mg3550 and problem 5b02.

    Thanks for the help

Well, it is described in the link:
To use this software, you must put the printer into service mode:
    Turn off the printer
Press and hold the "Resume" button
Press and hold the "Power" button
Hold both buttons for about five seconds
    Release the "Resume" button
    Press the "Resume" button twice
    Release the "Power" button
When the green LED stops blinking and stays on, the printer is in the service mode.

Ask yourself because you probably need to disconnect the USB cable from the PC! because I don't remember now ;-)
    You're welcome.

I hit clear ink counter, choose Main and hit set and open a txt file for me to save. but it does not reset the absorber, which I am doing, someone will tell you wrong.
