Hello, I would like to emphasize that Daf has a retarder, I replaced the thermostat with a second (not original) new one, it turned out that the temperature was lower than on the old one, so I ordered the original Dafoski with parameters 83 'the temperature is still low 75' maximum, the car burns 33l / 100km normally smoked 29l, (the normal thing is that he smokes more). The driver covered the entire coolers with cardboard, but the temperature did not rise. Apparently, in the housing where the thermostat is mounted, there are o-rings that could pass, but the o-rings are whole. The radiator should be cold and after the engine fluid warms up, the thermostat should open and the radiator should become warm and cool the warm fluid, etc. In my case, the radiator is cold and after some time it heats up and is still warm, it would turn out that the fluid all the time circulates in the system and is not held by the thermostat or the o-rings in the thermostat housing, maybe someone had such a case and will suggest something wise.

Hello. There is a 87 degree thermostat on the daf 410 and 460 as I remember correctly. You have installed from Dafa 510 they have a lower opening temperature. The second thing is how I replaced the thermostat, I hope with the sealing ring in the housing.

Hello, apparently 87 'is to dafa without a retarder, and with a retarder it has to be 83'

Hello, apparently 87 'is to dafa without a retarder, and with the retarder it has to be 83' I CONFIRM THAT LOGIC IS TO BE

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

And what about this topic, how is it, the visco can work all the time with the engine cooling it and at the same time creating resistance for the engine, while increasing fuel consumption

The car had a completely blocked cooling cover and a continuous 21 tons of temperature did not rise at all. It is not possible that the temperature would not rise, although it would go up a little. Suspect temperature sensor or sensor installation. When the computer sees that the car is underheated, it gives it a larger dose of fuel and thus burns more. Visco had a test done and it came out normal, Everything will be explained on Tuesday.

I would check the correct operation of the temperature sensor if it sometimes gives bad signs

Hello. I have the same problem with the liquid temperature indicator before half in 2010 Daf 105,460, fuel consumption has increased tremendously at the level of 40-42 l. If the matter has cleared up, please give me a hint to remove the fault in my Dafa :) best regards

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a DAF XF 105.460 (2008) experiencing issues with the engine not reaching the optimal operating temperature of 90 degrees Celsius. The user replaced the thermostat with a non-original part, which resulted in lower temperatures. They subsequently ordered an original DAF thermostat rated for 83 degrees, but the engine still only reaches a maximum of 75 degrees. Despite attempts to block the coolers with cardboard, the temperature remains low. Responses suggest checking the thermostat's sealing ring, the temperature sensor, and the possibility of a blocked cooling system. One user noted that a malfunctioning temperature sensor could lead to increased fuel consumption due to the engine receiving a larger fuel dose when underheated. Another user reported similar issues with a DAF 105.460, indicating a potential common problem.
