    Good morning,

Recently, I have a huge problem with the Wi-Fi network in my computer (ASUS k53SV laptop, Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter, win10 64bit [upgrade from win 7]). The laptop only detects one wifi network (mine, home). I would be able to accept it, but it is often disconnected. Once it works a few seconds, once a few hours. This is very bothersome. There are a lot of threads in the network that deal with problems with the network card and Windows 10. However, none of the solutions tested by me helped in my case. What's more, e.g. my phone detects several / several networks. When I make a hotspot from my phone, my computer also detects it and it is possible to connect. Another laptop with win7 on board also detects a dozen neighbors wifi networks. So far:
    - I reinstalled the card's drivers
    - I removed the card driver and then installed a new one myself
    - I removed the card driver, after which Windows installed the driver itself,
-in the command line level, I typed many commands found on the internet
    1) I entered the netsh winsock reset string
    Reply:
    Quote:
    Sucessfully reset the Winsock Catalog.
You must restart the computer in order to complete the reset.

    2) netsh int ip reset string
    answer as above
    3) ipconfig / release
    Quote:

    4) ipconfig / renew

    5) ipconfig / flushdns

Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

    - I followed the steps on the Microsoft website:
    - in the properties of the network card I turned off "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and changed the following values (it was: "long and short" and "Auto")

(someone in a thread recommended it)
    - I turned off the firewall
    - I diagnosed the connection
    - I generated the report via the command line (netsh wlan show wlanreport)

even if something helped for a moment, it didn't solve the problem. He's still just catching one net and he likes it. I am asking for help and advice what I can do and what is wrong with the laptop. Is this Windows' fault? Cards?

-80dbi - it will break and interrupt connections.
    Min you need -70dbi.

Does this mean that for the internet to work without a problem I have to sit at the router itself? Earlier such a problem was not on wines 7 and even on wines 10, at first he caught many networks, including neighbors where routers were further away than 2-3m.

Try to install WIFI headset from the card manufacturer.

    Added after 56 [seconds]:

Maybe the connections to the antenna on the laptop are loose or unhooked?

    Added after 34 [seconds]:

2-3m from a laptop without walls should be -30dbi

    Added after 3 [minutes]:

Do you have other laptops? install inssider also, scan and check what they see.

The drivers were installed both new and old, in compatibility mode, manually, automatically through windows update, from other manufacturers' websites (lenovo, hp) - nothing helped.
As for the issue of loosening the antenna, this seems to be an interesting clue, because the computer recently returned from the site, where it had the power socket replaced ... Maybe the service mixed up something there.
Pictures of 2 laptop that stands behind the wall (about 3-4 m from the router) show that something is wrong with me and specifically ... The second laptop with win7 the same network card.

    Definitely follow this lead.
Either let it yourself or take it to the service center.

Thanks a lot god! I think I've really done everything the internet has anticipated in order to get rid of this problem. Only your advice with connection turned out to be accurate :) I don't know much about computers, but access to the card in my Asus is very simple (2 screws) - I Google Google what it looks like and I managed to track it. It looked like this:
ASUS K53SV Laptop (Win10, 64bit) Detects Only One Wi-Fi Network: Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Issues ASUS K53SV Laptop (Win10, 64bit) Detects Only One Wi-Fi Network: Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Issues
Generally 2 of these cables disconnected, zero even contact. I put in 2, everything flashes.
    Screen from inSSIDera now:
ASUS K53SV Laptop (Win10, 64bit) Detects Only One Wi-Fi Network: Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Issues

Well, they changed the power socket but they didn't remember connecting the cables ... Thank you again :) greetings

Topic summary

The ASUS K53SV laptop, equipped with a Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter and running Windows 10 (64-bit), is experiencing significant Wi-Fi connectivity issues, detecting only one network and frequently disconnecting. The user has attempted various troubleshooting steps, including reinstalling drivers and checking compatibility, but to no avail. Other devices, such as a phone and a different laptop with Windows 7, successfully detect multiple networks. Suggestions from the forum include using InSSIDer to analyze network visibility, checking the signal strength (noting that -80 dBi is too weak), and inspecting the physical connections to the Wi-Fi antenna, which may have been disturbed during recent repairs. Ultimately, the user discovered that two antenna cables were disconnected, leading to a resolution of the connectivity issues after reconnecting them.
