Hello, I have a technical problem caused by lack of trust in the authorized LINCOLN service center. The problem is that my friend was welding with a speedtec at the highest current in MMA mode, not maintaining the operating time, which resulted in the device overheating. The welding machine was serviced in Krakow and I got it back after 5 weeks. The service center did not inform me about the costs of the service, which cost me PLN 1.5 thousand. PLN... Out of curiosity, I opened the welding machine to see what had been replaced and what did I see? I saw a screwdriver that the service technician had carelessly or intentionally left in the device. I have the impression that it was not there by accident because it was in contact with the power output to the electrode and the motherboard. After filing a complaint, the service center took it back to itself, first claiming that I had thrown in the screwdriver myself, and then after another 4 weeks I got the welder back and part of the money back... Result: I took the device apart again and what did I see? The soldered parts that were previously replaced with new ones, and after the complaint I saw damaged parts and replaced ones.
The situation is that I would like to fix it myself this time, but I don`t know if the parts currently soldered to the motherboard are the parts that are actually in these places, i.e. the same parameters as in the original.
My question is: can anyone help by sending e.g. photos with the markings of the elements? Thank you in advance for your help and good advice. :)

Hello, I have the same welding machine as you. The mosfet in position V121 at the top right of your first photo is broken. Unfortunately, I can't read the reference that is written on it. Could you take a picture of yours or tell me the reference if you can read it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

It's been a long time, but I still hope that my answer will help someone.
    V120 is IRF9540NS and V121 is IRF540NS.

I need the value of resistor R46.

    Hi.

    R46 is a 15K resistor.

Hope it helps. Electronic schematic with NCP1654 IC and resistor labeled as R46.

    Thank you!
I'm sorry I didn't see the answer right away.
Yes, it is a 15K ohm resistor.
Could I have the complete schematic?
There are still burnt components. Someone took off the original k40H603 and put in a FGH40N60; also, the CUG diodes are shorted.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user's experience with an authorized LINCOLN service center regarding a Speedtec 200C welding machine. The user reports that after a prolonged service period, they discovered a screwdriver left inside the device, which they believe was intentionally placed there, potentially causing damage. The user expresses distrust in the service center, especially after being charged PLN 1,500 without prior notification of costs. Other participants in the discussion provide technical insights about components of the welding machine, including details about broken MOSFETs and resistors, and share information on component specifications and replacements.
