Jeep Grand Cherokee WK 2008 - QuadraDrive II Service 4WD System Message & No Fault Codes

Best answers LABEL_AI_GENERATED

Why does my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK with QuadraDrive II display "SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM" at ignition even though no fault codes are stored?

The message is often caused by the 4WD control/module needing a reset or software reload, or by a module fault under the passenger seat behind the driver, rather than by a stored fault code [#20221205] You can try a home reset by switching the engine off and removing fuse no. 20 in the under-hood fuse box, the one marked FDCM EDIFF [#20221205] Start the car, drive about 5 m forward and then 5 m back, switch the car off, and put the fuse back in place [#20221205] After this procedure, the error disappeared and QuadraDrive II could be restarted [#20221205] If that does not help, the module may need a software reflash or replacement with a used/new unit with the amendments installed [#20221205]

    I also have this message. Do you think that with such a car you can drive a few kilometers to the service? Do you drive with this message? Do you have any strange car behavior - delicate vibrations, vibrations etc.?

    I know this post is old but I had the same problem.
    The solution is to reset the electronics / upload new software to the computer module (the one under the passenger seat behind the driver) or replace it with a used / new module with installed amendments.
    You can do the reset yourself at home:

    1. with the engine off, find and remove fuse no. 20 in the electrical box under the hood (the one described as FDCM EDIFF);
    2. start the car and drive about 5 m forward and then 5 m back, turn the car off;
    3. put the fuse back in its place.

    after this procedure, the error in my car disappeared and it was possible to restart the Quadradrive II.
    Maybe it will help someone.
    Kisses,
    P.
