    Hello,
I am the owner of the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016). I bought it with preloaded Android 5.1.1 and a brand of the Play network. Unfortunately, the operator did not bother to update to 6.0.1., So I decided to do it on my own, i.e. I downloaded the appropriate soft via SAMFIRM and downloaded it - without any problems. Every now and then updates of the same version of Android (6) come out, but I noticed that some use up the battery more, so using ODINA, I return to the version that suits me. Another update came out this month, but it is using up the battery significantly. So I wanted to upload the previous ROM (I keep previous versions on the disk), but strangely I can't, because there are errors:

    ODIN:
    Code: Text
Log in, to see the code

However, on the phone screen I have the message:
    Code: Text
Log in, to see the code

The only solution is to download the latest version, which unfortunately I do not like, because the battery rains much faster.
Soft, which I want to upload: A510FXXU3BQB1_A510FOXA3BQB2_A510FXXU3BQB1
Soft, which can be uploaded: A510FXXU4BQC1_A510FOXA4BQC1_A510FXXU4BQC1

Is it possible that samsung blocked in any way returns to older versions of the same android? There was no problem with that before. I tried with different versions of ODINA, but it's the same.

It's a fact, not a possibility. Samsung has blocked the option of uploading an older firmware.

Soft uploaded with the extracted PIT file and the appropriate option in Odin? The PIT file sets the partitions for new software.

Another thing is that you should give some time to the new system. It is possible that after 2-3 charging cycles everything will stabilize.

Everything is set up in Odin. Only the last version of the software is uploaded, just like all previous versions (including returning to older versions).

    I hope it will happen.

Have you made root on your system?

It has nothing to do with this situation. Samsung blocked downgrade and that's it.

I see that soft crashes on hidden.img, I try to remove this file from the software (I do it with a total commander) so far I managed to upload soft after removing the hidden.img file from the soft file. In case of problems write to gg I will try to help.

The root query did not refer to the inability to return to 5. Where is some info about this block?

On this version, the battery lasts 3 days with little use of the phone. What does it look like for you?

To make it clear - I operate on various Android 6.0.1 updates - I don't want to go back to 5, only to the previous version 6. I don't have root - I don't need it. The phone is so efficient and works smoothly that I have no reason to rummage in it more than on the default settings (or in the developer options).

Do as I wrote and you should be able to upload the older soft.

If little use is also 2-3 days, but with more intensive, in the evening I have about 45-50%. On the previous build: A510FXXU3BQB1_A510FOXA3BQB2_A510FXXU3BQB1, at the end of the day I had 60-70% for the evening. Due to the fact that I charge the phone only at home, on the original charger with the option of quick charging - at the moment I have to do it every day. I do not want to completely discharge at work and I do not risk leaving home for work with less than 70% battery charge.

Of course I will try, but only in the evening.

Sometimes it is so that the first percentages seem as if they were flying faster, and from 30% for example much slower. Too fast, in my opinion, you assess the performance on new software, the more so because de facto there is no change in the whole number, but security patches. Give him a few days.

Unfortunately, Odin crashes after deleting this file - exactly when you selected the soft file:

    Code: Text
Log in, to see the code

I see you are using one file rom? Have you tried with 4 files along with PIT extracted from CSC? You wrote that you did it, but from the screen above you can see that it's one file maker. Fast charging is ok, but when we have time, charging should be rather slower. Healthier for the battery.

I have not written anywhere that I use multi-file ROMs :) I won't mess up, just wait and watch the phone work.

    I'm closing the topic.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the difficulties faced by a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) user in downgrading from Android 6.0.1 to a previous version due to Samsung's restrictions on firmware downgrades. The user successfully updated to Android 6.0.1 but encountered battery drain issues with newer updates. Attempts to revert to an older ROM using ODIN resulted in errors, particularly related to the hidden.img file and MD5 hash validation. Participants suggested using a PIT file for proper partition mapping and discussed the impact of charging habits on battery performance. The user clarified they do not require root access and prefer to maintain default settings. Ultimately, the user decided to monitor the phone's performance before taking further action.
