locally you can log in as admin and the password is the last 6 digits from the equation = 8888 x DD x MM x YY, where DD is the day the recorder displays, MM - month, YY-year (last two digits)
Removing the battery backing up the recorder memory effectively prevents using the password reset method given in the above post.
As a side note - I wonder what drives people thoughtlessly pulling out the battery that supports the memory of the date ... There are quite a few - on privie I have requests from several hundred (!) "Heroes of the house" ...
