How do you change the contrast in a PDF file to make the letters stronger? They are gray, they are difficult to see. How do you apply contrast to all pages and what program should you use to contrast it?

If you want to do it yourself, it will be easiest under Windows. Option 1. (XP is enough).
1. Download the Irfanview program http://www.irfanview.com/ Don't play .zip archives. Download the setup file. 2. Download all plugins for it. There is one package, but this is mainly about Ghostscript. Install. 3. Open your PDF in IrfanView. Enter the Batch conversion option and play with advanced settings. Mainly change the Brightness, Contrast and Gamma options.
Option 2. You open your file, e.g. in Adobe Photoshop (paid ... unless you download the trial) and for each imported image you do color correction. You are exporting everything again to PDF. (Probably also using the batch processing option).
Option 3. You open your file in Gimp (free) and import the entire PDF, you do color correction and save to PDF. Gimp will probably throw everything into layers.
Adobe Acorbat Prof has the option to change the contrast in an open PDF.
