black does not print, others print, automatic cleaning ineffective. The printer has been used for 4 years, there have never been problems. Black ink was changed about a month ago and has been printing without a problem since then.

I tried according to the method described here http://kociolek.wypowiedzi.pl/gdy-drukarka-brother-nie-drukuje-kolorow-t6.html to bleed pipes from black.

I put the tube and syringe and tried to squeeze the ink. I put a paper towel under the heads and nothing leaked as a result of my injection. At one point you could feel that the pressure and the pressure being more and more tightened in the injection resulted in the hose snapping out (and releasing a piece of the right leg and half a square meter of liner). As if something was clogged, well, or the correct reaction - I do not know how it is built inside.

I did not disassemble the printer so I do not know if there are cables (?) With black ink.

It is a pity, maybe you have already flooded the place where the hoses "enter" into the head :( it's too late for repair, a lot of spinning up.
are the "from the display" methods
mainternance 76 .... right "cleaning black" and then "4" and then "mono"
    depends on the printer model.
We start with this ... often often dubious quality substitutes can be bought on the Allegro recently.
Before printing, please check the important thing ... well ...
Substitutes often have such a "strap"

After breaking this yellow-black foil, MAKE SURE that the "hole" created under it is unobstructed. This is the commandment of every brother brother.
    I clean the wires.
I soak the head in a bowl with 1 mm level of cleansing liquid in the jar cap.
Sometimes it helps, but most often I change the head for the "next" removed from 145c 165c 195c from these cheaper models

    so I have to
    - clean the lines properly with liquid and do not push the mascara
    - and try cleaning the head or replacing it.

the price of a head up to 145C is 318 PLN. wow

wow. I don't remember well, but I thought that for the whole printer I had paid something in this area (but maybe it was closer to PLN 500). I'm a poor man now and I have to try.

Such a thing occurred to me: due to the fact that the colors interest me on average when printing (I print in black in 95%), I thought that I would pour black ink into the colored tuners and now. The question is whether the printer will be saved when I won't be a grandfather anymore (in a few weeks / months) and I want to print with normally loaded colors and a new printhead.

Second thought: can you not force the printer somehow not to print anything to get ink from the tuner I indicated? I wouldn't have to load black in each color.

There is no such thing in an inkjet printer as tuners / toners - there are inks!
You can try to pull the head and throw it for cleaning, there are liquids for cleaning the inner heads - you pour it into the ink and let the cleaning run.
You definitely need to change the ink and draw as much as you can from the printer hoses.

Formerly, in an old Lexmark printer, I don't remember the model anymore, I also had a similar situation because it did not print black due to the lack of ink, and the cartridges were difficult to reach and very expensive at that time and after several refills they simply "sat down". Only the color cartridge remained. I saved myself, for example, by printing in Word a "written" document, so that the font color was black, I chose the "Custom" font color and set it in Word as in the attached picture:

I do not know if all the programs allow it and whether the printer settings include such option (I have one like yours) but in Word it was possible to deceive Lexmark, instead of choosing the font color "Automatic" set it as in the picture and the color came out as you can see (green arrow in the picture).

Topic summary

The Brother DCP-J315W printer is experiencing issues with black ink not printing, despite other colors functioning correctly. The user has attempted various troubleshooting methods, including venting the ink lines and performing automatic cleaning, but these have proven ineffective. After changing the black ink cartridge a month ago, the problem arose, leading to attempts to manually bleed the ink lines using a syringe, which resulted in a hose disconnection. Suggestions from other users include cleaning the print head, ensuring the ink cartridges are not clogged, and considering the replacement of the print head if necessary. There are also discussions about the cost of replacement parts and alternative methods to utilize existing ink supplies.
