Hello, since yesterday I have a problem with this printer, it has worked flawlessly so far. Since yesterday, when I release something to print, the printer takes up the paper to a certain point (exactly as I lift the cover, it just before this white stripe leading the head stops, the message "paper jam" pops up, so I pull out a piece of paper (not wrinkled) and the message disappears, reprint - same again and again.
    how to fix it?

After opening the rear door what is the situation with this piece of paper, how is it "arranged" there?
For me, similarly once "screamed" as the paper was too thick, inappropriate weight for print settings on photo paper.

After opening the back flap, the paper card is folded in correctly as it should be. I take it out not from the back but from the inside because it enters about 4 - 5 cm and stops in front of the head. I printed on the same paper a few days ago and nothing happened, I did nothing with the printer.

Is the encoder ribbon clean? It's the transparent thing that goes through the head. Try to clean it with alcohol.

When I get home I will clean it, but how do I move the head manually so as not to break something and to clean the entire tape?

If it's parked, clean only what you see. If you definitely want to drive with the head, you can knock 75 in Maintance mode and it will go to the center and you will be able to move it freely, but it will be faster if you release something to print and pull it out of the electricity when it comes out.

To make the print head go out ... Open the scanner door and press long stop until the ambulance comes out

There is also an optical sensor on the head, soiling it gives the same effect.

And will cleaning this tape or optical sensor help in my case (I have a different T700w model but these printers are probably made for one hoof)? I have these symptoms:
Equipment stopped printing while jamming. After unlocking, he picked up the paper again, but as if with unstable power - once quickly and abruptly, throwing it away with an unfinished print, and once slowly and arduously, plugging the printer again. Another symptom is a loud noise during printing, as if something inside were hitting each other. And finally the end result - does not work completely - tries to move, but can not, because it stutters.

Topic summary

The Brother DCP-J315W printer is experiencing a persistent paper jam issue, where the printer stops before the print head and displays a "paper jam" message despite using undamaged paper. Users suggest checking the arrangement of the paper after opening the rear door and ensuring the encoder ribbon is clean, as dirt can cause similar problems. Cleaning the encoder tape and the optical sensor on the print head is recommended, as these components can affect printing performance. One user successfully resolved their issue by cleaning the encoder tape. Another user with a different model, the T700W, reported similar symptoms and inquired if cleaning the encoder tape or optical sensor would help.
