    Welcome,

    I need help finding a fault on Octavia 2, 2006, 1.9 TDI, 105KM BXE 4x4.
Namely, from buying the vehicle, I get an error. Especially when it's raining!
ABS and ESP are on and an oil mark will appear on the dashboard in red. All I need to do is pull over to the side of the road, turn off the ignition and ignite after 1 minute. Everything disappears.
I have a Delphi program, and it shows errors:

    09322 - Engine rotation sensor
01314 - Electronic engine control module.

The sensor has been replaced with the original and the driver. The old controller was burned out, as if it had fallen into the shower and had been plugged in. As for the sensor, I was not sure so I decided to replace it. But the problem only arises again when it rains. I checked the CAN rail (briefly) if there were any abrasions that could cause a short circuit when connected to water, but it seems good. I would like to add that the car was chipped by the old owner, probably at a friend's place. When I went to V-tech, they told me there was some very weak chip they didn't know before. (currently no chip). Just before the error pops up, the car jerks as if it had a momentary break in the fuel, literally for 1 second.
    All fuses are operational. :)

I would like to check the CAN bus (I will buy a beer for a good tutorial!), I suspect that it is the fault of one of the cables / plugs. Someone advises against dismantling it in "home" conditions? Ie. Outside, without a jack and professional tools. Because that's the only one I have.

And I would check the fuse box under the hood, pull it out, open it and see how green it is there. This is how it was with me, a few of these boxes were flooded

I checked the fuse box when replacing the driver (3/4 months ago). The computer then showed a fuse error, but I don't remember it anymore. The fuse turned out to be good, but I replaced it anyway. And the driver was burnt.

But I will take the advice and today I will check the entire box with the wiring ;) ?

It is possible that such errors are caused by the ABS driver ??

Unfortunately it's not there. Everything is dry, the cables are well insulated, no chafing.
    Any other advice?

Yesterday in the area of the starter it stank quite badly when I got home. I bet that maybe the belt was rubbing, because it wasn't the smell of burning cables. Today I will take out the battery and connect it with wires to just start the car, I will take out the air filter. I will start the car and look for no connections in the installation with the ignition on. If any of the cables / plugs has a break, it should display an error again on the dashboard.
Later I will describe what happened, maybe it will be useful to someone one day:]

What didn't work? Disassemble the installation going in the conduit near the starter and repair it.

Unfortunately, I found nothing, I took out one of the bundles and at home, on the table by the lamp, I was looking for abrasions, corrosion, everything. I found nothing. The second beam that also goes there, I stripped all the insulation and found nothing. I have no ideas anymore.
Could this type of error be written to the clocks and Delphi might not completely remove it?
Only VCDS could remove this error, so I can not find the cause and just remove the error?

To my mind, such visual checking is not reliable.

I also checked with a multimeter. Everything was fine.
I unplugged some sensor plugs to have the same fear as when driving. Nothing appeared on the board. Also under the engine, shaft position sensor, oil pressure sensor, nothing.

Maybe ask on the OCP octavia forum, I myself have the same Octavia as you and I learned a lot about her from that forum.

I have already written 2 times on that forum about this problem. Twice the topic died because no one was interested in it, even after a few of my posts :(

Ride to someone who has the time and idea how to connect to CAN monitoring while the car is in motion. Unless you like to do it in the dark on your own.

for what ? as this is not a can problem, only the installation of the sensor itself, three wires ...

The correction is now looking at the diagram and the first thing that came to my mind was the alternator - check the wiring or have it checked.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2006 Skoda Octavia 2 equipped with a 1.9 TDI engine, experiencing intermittent errors related to the engine rotation sensor and electronic control module, particularly during rainy conditions. The user reports that the ABS and ESP warning lights activate, along with a red oil mark on the dashboard, which temporarily resolves after restarting the vehicle. Despite replacing the engine rotation sensor and the electronic control module, the issue persists. Various troubleshooting steps have been suggested, including checking the fuse box for water damage, inspecting the electrical installation near the starter, and verifying the integrity of wiring and connections. The user has also attempted to diagnose the problem using a multimeter and has sought advice from other forums without success. Suggestions include consulting the OCP Octavia forum and checking the alternator wiring.
