Hello. I will describe my problem .. I copied the recovery partition from hdd to ssd, the installation fired, everything ok until restarting and blue screen 0x000007b, after changing from ahci to ide in bios windows turns on, language selection, finishing settings and blue screen 0X0000021a. I also renewed the recovery from the disc and the same. When installing another win 7 from the disc error: unable to load files (2 different discs), win 8, it will install ok but windows freezes, I installed the sata motherboard driver and again the blue screen for the drivers. I've tried practically everything (enabling ahci in the registry, bootrec, bootsect, chkdsk in cmd, repair from the motherboard) and nothing .. My laptop is Asus K61ic MCP79 chipset, ssd goodram iridium pro. Maybe this motherboard won't work with this ssd at all? Please help...

    Depends on which MCP79?
    * Nvidia MCP79 have SATA II controller.
But there are some limitations ....
For example, read on for Mac, but on a chipset

I understand that everything is back to normal on the old hdd?

Also check the memory bones, e.g. with the MEMTEST program - it won't hurt.
Maybe when you disassembled the laptop you moved?

I once had a case in an old desktop PC that it only entered safe mode, no attempts to enter the system properly worked (blue screen errors, hangs on the system logo). Replacing one RAM chip instantly revived the computer.

It's a pity you can't test your hardware with another SSD from a different manufacturer. Maybe you have a factory defective piece with a damaged controller.

Then the last chance is to update the disk's firmware.
Maybe the manufacturer already knows about the problem and has improved the software that may work with your board.

Maybe it's a bit of a mustard after dinner, but I also have an Asus but the K70IO on the Nvidia MCP79 chipset. I tried to mount SSD Goodram Iridium Pro. No chance, crashing bugs, BSODs and whatever you can. Today, on vacation, I found some time and took out the older Crucial MX100 250 GB, on which I previously had a desktop system. I put it in the paw and no problems with the installation of Windows 10 CU as well as the subsequent operation on this system. I installed the chipset and coprocessor drivers from Windows 7 x64. New life for an old but still good paw. Maybe it will be useful to someone.
The Cruciala website K70IO and the like are compatible with many of their SSDs. It may not be able to take full advantage of SSD speeds, but the difference between starting the system on a 5400 rpm HDD and SSD is colossal. My friend's Toshiba i7 2630m is now running much slower than my old laptop.

Hello. I come back to the topic. I was able to stabilize the disk's cooperation with mcp79 (I turned off the sata spread spectrum option in bios after the previous unlocking of this function in bios), it works properly without jams, but only on sata I (read 120, write 100MB / s) on the nvidia driver (on microsoft driver works unstable). When I put the disk in a pocket in the DVD, the reading reaches 220MB / s, while the write is only 10-20 MB / s and the system turns on longer (on the Nvidia and Microsoft driver). Do you have any idea what could be the reason? AHCI included. Previously uploaded firmware patch, sent by GOODRAM (mac compatibility, which is also on the MCP79 chipset)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around blue screen errors encountered while installing Windows on an Asus K61IC laptop equipped with an MCP79 chipset and a Goodram Iridium Pro SSD. The user initially copied the recovery partition from an HDD to the SSD, leading to a 0x000007b error upon restart. Switching from AHCI to IDE allowed Windows to start but resulted in a 0x0000021a error. Various troubleshooting steps were attempted, including changing BIOS settings, installing SATA drivers, and using different Windows installation media, but issues persisted. Other users suggested checking RAM integrity, updating SSD firmware, and noted compatibility issues with the Goodram SSD, as they had success with other SSD brands. Ultimately, the user found stability by disabling the SATA spread spectrum option in BIOS, achieving moderate SSD performance.
