    Hello
Since yesterday I have a problem with Goodram 120 SSD c40 gb GB. Everything was ok, I turned off the computer and restarted after a while and a message popped up BIOS BIOS that I do not have the disk system installed. I booted the system from a second HDD to see what happened to the SSD. In the device manager it is visible as PS3109S9 ATA Device. In disk management, it cannot be initialized and shows 20 mb MB. It doesn't read health values from SMART. I tried recovering partitions with TestDisk but sees 20 mb MB only.

I corrected the title and post. RADU23

Your disk has been physically damaged and you will rather not do anything about it. If it was under warranty, then only replacement remains.

Problem with the controller Phison PS3109 :?:

    What is important to you:
    - Data recovery
    - Disk repair (no recovery possible).

It is important for me that this disk works (i.e. repair the disk). It doesn't matter what the data was on it

If anyone has problems with this disk, I send software updates that I received from the GOODRAM support. Although I failed to resurrect the disk but it may be useful to someone this software

Here is the answer from GOODRAM

    I warmly welcome,

I am sending an update in the attachment.
To perform the update, you need to prepare a bootable flash drive with DOS, e.g. using
free RUFUS program, and then unzip the file from the attachment to a flash drive.
From a flash drive prepared in this way, please start your computer and issue the command:

    S9FM025.exe

After completing the update, turn off the computer and turn it on again to activate the new firmware.

    File attached with 7zip.
    File password: we123

If the update is successful, we cannot guarantee that the data will be readable.

And here is the reason why it is impossible to boot the disk and update the software

if the disk is in BOOT mode, unfortunately it is not possible to upload the firmware.
Please, make a complaint about the disc.

Unfortunately, I can't make this update.
After creating bootable media and executing the appropriate command, it shows me the version of FW I currently have and refuses to execute UP; /

my c40 drive has a Phison S8 series controller
    I have a version:
    S8FM08.1

is this version suitable for my disk?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Goodram 120GB SSD C40 that is not recognized by the BIOS after a restart, displaying only 20MB in disk management and failing to initialize. Users suggest that the issue may stem from physical damage or a malfunctioning Phison PS3109 controller. The author expresses a desire to repair the disk rather than recover data. Recommendations include using the Phison SATA Toolbox for diagnostics and contacting Goodram for warranty support. A user shares software updates from Goodram, detailing the process for creating a bootable flash drive to attempt a firmware update, although another user reports difficulties executing the update due to a different controller version (Phison S8).
