Hello, the airbag indicator is lit and crashes 01218 the passenger side airbag ignition, no continuous error. After erasing everything is ok until someone closes the passenger door more tightly. The first time such a mistake appeared two months ago. Last month I was driving alone and I was just opening the driver's door, now the passenger is riding with me and the problem is coming back. Any ideas? Somewhere a plug does not connect? Can the cable break?

Faulty connection of the pillow plug. Disconnect the battery, and then wash the plug pins.

You do not have to unplug the battery, just remove the key from the ignition.
There should be a longer description of the type of resistance too high or too small / short circuit where the first means a break in the circuit, which is most likely not connected to the connector.
    Plug under the seat.

Above the upper acceptable threshold. And I have not seen the plugs from the seat, they are plugs because I have electric seats, but I do not see any yellow ones there. Maybe somewhere under the carpeting? And how to clean the plug and pins? Maybe someone knows where exactly the plug is located

You can clean the Contact with a spray, you can also bend the blades to make contact more firmly.
The Octavia 2 has wires in the floor, the Octavia one has under the seat.
From the threshold side, under the seat there is such a cover and beneath the connectors from the chair, there you will find a yellow 3-pin plug.
You have to unscrew the screws on the back of the chair in the guides that make the stops, you give the chair back and you see the box in the floor.

Thank you very much. I will try to embrace it tomorrow. Only one plug is from the side cushions under the seat I have to understand? And how do you blame the plug it is this one?

After opening the flip it turned out that I have it done for a short time probably without an ankle. What to do with this?

After the cable was unbuttoned it turned out that every cable is soldered, probably the problem is somewhere else. Do you have any ideas?

    Hello,
Watch this February exactly. The so-called cold February may have arisen (if February is cracked or there are cracks in it, there may be a break in the connection and this may be the culprit. The solution is to re-sold the connections.
    Greetings.

This is a common fault in the case of a G180 side sensor fault placed in the door - (ie, for example, error 01221 or 01222)
In the case of "01218 - passenger airbag igniter - too high resistance value", make a short circuit on the cushion plug and see if the error description changes to "resistance too small"

I will stick to this topic because I also have a problem with this yellow cube. When I washed it out, it was quiet for some time. I exchange my car with my wife every day and we often move the chair. After clearing and deleting the error, calm down and light up again. Can this cube be somehow eliminated and is it the only one or is there any other one about octavia 2? The colors of the wires differ from the seat they go different and from the floor different.

There were two damages, one in the harness near the hinge, in this rubber accordion, broken wires, the other one under the seat, one solder broke in the green wire, probably when I pulled out the seat
Repairing car seat wires with a visible damaged green wire. A hand pointing at damaged electrical wires in a car.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a recurring issue with the airbag indicator on a Skoda Octavia 2, specifically error code 01218, which indicates a passenger side airbag ignition error. The problem manifests intermittently, particularly when the passenger door is closed tightly or when the driver’s door is opened. Users suggest that the issue may stem from a faulty connection at the airbag plug, possibly under the seat or near the door hinge. Recommendations include cleaning the plug contacts, checking for broken wires, and ensuring proper connections. Some users have identified specific locations for the yellow 3-pin plug and noted that cold solder joints or damaged wires could be contributing factors. The discussion highlights the importance of inspecting the wiring harness and connections to resolve the airbag error.
