Hello, I have a problem with the airbag, it lights up and cannot be turned off. I connected to the vag and the error 01221 came out. I UNLESSED everything that was possible, starting with: the plug in the seat, then the sensor under the rug, then the door, and finally the ECU and nothing only flashes once and stays, I don't know where else to look? I am asking for quick help or advice. I attach a photo of vag.

    17 Crash sensor error.

You will have to disassemble the plastic cover and unscrew one bolt from the straps, remove the foam / soundproofing. The sensor is attached to the body on two bolts. The sensor may fly if it gets some water or moisture. Maybe that's it. Remember that working with airbags must always be done with the ignition off and the battery disconnected. When you connect everything back, you can try to turn the key and then connect the battery.

First, give a detailed description of the error, not the number itself.
After the description, he can distinguish what hurts him and the options are different: open circuit, unreliable signal or no basic settings that you will not do.
Replacing with another one may not solve the problem.
The sensor has its identification number which it sends to the controller and when it sees other than it has been saved in the memory, it screams with an error.
I wonder how you checked this sensor if you don't even remember what it looks like.

At the beginning, sorry because I thought I pasted a photo. And as for the sensor, I distinguish because the black is under the seat on the crossbar has 2 pins to which there are 2 brown cables with stripes and the blue one is in the door only when I took off the door side I did not find it and after folding it I thought that it could be for this sheet between the door and the plastic, so the question was asked to be sure. And if, for example, another sensor is hooked, and then the module will reset, for example, with an Airbag resetter, it will continue to crash the wrong sensor. I'm already pasting a photo.

There is no sensor in the door here, newer cars have it and then it is not under the seat.
Check the wires between the sensor and the controller, replace the left sensor with the right one and then check the errors. If the error passes to the passenger, then the fault of the sensor and if not, the installation.
You do not have to disconnect the battery because the controller only has power from the ignition switch, so you just need to remove the key from the ignition switch.
You have an old type of driver and there is a good chance that the used sensor will come up and the driver will not see it, but it must be with the same numbers.
The left and right sensors have the same number.
You look at the number on top of the sensor, the rest of the number will be different.

So I changed the left with the right one and the same and even as I managed to get two other ones but with the same numbers (ij0909606n) and then the same errors until the installation is not able to fight! Maybe some other idea?

Since the error remains on the same side with the sensor spacer, it is a problem in the installation, unless the driver is damaged.
The sensor has only two pins, so you have 2 wires to check, one of which is ground.
Both wires go to the controller, so the rugs go up and go.
Check the cables with a 21W bulb, not a meter - power the bulb through them.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a persistent airbag error (01221) in a 1998 Volkswagen Passat B5, which causes the airbag light to remain illuminated. The user has attempted various troubleshooting steps, including checking connections under the seat, door, and ECU, but the issue persists. Responses suggest that the problem may lie with the crash sensor (G179), which could be faulty or improperly connected. Users recommend checking the wiring between the sensor and the controller, and suggest that replacing the sensor may not resolve the issue if the installation is faulty. It is emphasized that the sensor must match the identification number stored in the controller. Further troubleshooting involves checking the wiring integrity and possibly using a bulb to test the connections.
