You don't have enough cables, a minimum of 7.

This is the left lamp yellow indicator, black position lamp, white ground, red stop. The right lamp analogy is green indicator and brown position lamp. Plug arrangement you have 31 white,L yellow, green R , black brown 58 L and R. red 54.
This is just a quick look at a typical connection. But things can be different in real life. Depends on what and who did it.

Ansylvia above you have a breakdown of the plug. To the lamp with the cables like a string. I don't think it can be any clearer. If you don't understand, contact an electrician. No one knows how you have connected the plug.

Topic summary

The discussion addresses the problem of connecting trailer lamps with mismatched wire colors. The trailer lamps include functions for direction indicators, position lights, and stop lights, each requiring correct wiring. Typical wiring conventions mentioned are: white wires as ground (mass), red for stop lights, yellow for left indicators, green for right indicators, brown for position lamps, and black sometimes used as a second position lamp or additional function. A standard trailer lamp has four wires corresponding to these functions. The plug wiring is described with pin assignments such as 31 (white ground), L (yellow left indicator), green (right indicator), black and brown (position lamps), and red (stop light, pin 54). It is noted that a minimum of seven wires is necessary for full functionality. Visual references to wiring diagrams and lamp internals were shared to aid understanding. The complexity and variability of wiring setups are acknowledged, and professional electrician assistance is recommended if the wiring is unclear.
