For a long time I can not deal with two errors on the engine:

    2 Faults Found:

    4096 - Bank 1: CMP Sensor (G40) / Engine Speed Sensor (G28)
    P0016 00 [096] - Incorrect Correlation
Intermittent - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

    5120 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1
    P2196 00 [237] - Signal too High (Rich)
MIL ON - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

Crashes the Check engine control, clears errors, I will make 500km and return. Timing mentioned in December by the previous owner of the car. I think the timing is incorrectly set and also causes lambda error with info about too rich mixture. I went to the mechanic, checked the timing and said that everything is perfectly arranged, I have a two-quarters to replace because it shakes at a stop and said that the bimenta will puncture the timing and hence these errors. I do not want to believe it. I have vcds 15.7, I was looking in extended blocks info about synchro roller, the driver is after UDS communication and there is a lime tree, no one in the forum would tell me where to look. Today I found channel 191 with a synchronous angle signature, there is an idle value of -3.58. Is timing synchronization specified here? What is the correct value for 2.0 CR? I know that in older models 1.9tdi should be 0.00, tolerance limit is from -3 to 3, here I do not know :( I used to get 1.9tdi and I removed the shield and set the synchro on the top shaft as I wanted to go under the computer, usually at 0.00 and it was ok, here I can do it too? (remove the casing and on the main shaft gently move on the screws and check what value is in channel 191, only great is the unknown whether I am gaining a good channel and what should be the value there for the ideal timing setting).

I also recorded a movie how the values in this channel change at the engine speed:

no one will help me and will not tell me in what position under what name is the shaft synchronization angle in extended measurements?

This is in older drivers, it connects to uds and the channels are different

Timing for the correction, I had the same in the 2.0 TDI CAHA, 20000km after the exchange in the Dealership. I set the timing on the interlocks exactly according to elsy and it's ok, synchronization -1, the error is gone. Probe error is another fairy tale, you have to look.

Ok thanks for the info. Tell me if I look at the angle of synchronization in a good measuring block?

I read about this error and the first thing you need to check is the synchro shaft and I hope that as the timing I set it will disappear this error, if not this search further in the fuel system because maybe some injection is pouring :-( or pump

The problem solved, I loosen the screws on the upper shaft and set it under vcds in channel 191 synchro and managed to set to 0.30 (hard to perfectly target 0.00), I made 10km and so far no errors, we will see after a long route, the engine started shaking less at idle but the two-thousandth is for exchange. If someone is looking for the camshaft timing in 2.0TDI CR to UDS then it is under the synchronous angle. Video after setting the roller:

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around persistent engine errors in an Audi 2.0 TDI CR, specifically related to the CMP Sensor (G40), Engine Speed Sensor (G28), and Oxygen Lambda Sensor (B1 S1). The user reports an incorrect correlation error (P0016) and a high signal error (P2196) indicating a rich mixture. Despite a mechanic's assurance that the timing is correctly set, the user suspects timing misalignment may be causing the lambda error. Various responses suggest checking the synchronization angle using VCDS, particularly in channel 191, and adjusting the upper shaft to achieve proper synchronization. After adjustments, the user reports a reduction in errors and improved engine performance.
