Hello. I need help choosing some inexpensive antenna amplifier. I will work on a business trip for a while and live in a house on level -1 where there is absolutely no network. Outside, the range is good 3g. Will buying an amplifier solve the problem? I would see it like this: external antenna of the amplifier would be outside and inside in the middle at -1. I have about PLN 400 even used for the issue.

    Hello

    No
A much better solution is a GSM router placed outside or close to window openings (choose experimentally) which will connect to a computer, tablet, phone via wifi.
An alternative may be an active GSM antenna, but the further it is from the router-modem, the greater the drop in GSM signal on the cable.

I will add. That I only care about the signal in one room.
Do I need a card for a gsm router?

It does not matter because the router I mentioned earlier spreads the WiFi signal anyway.

If there is to be internet, yes.
There is still the question of what internet? I recommend 4G, but my friend writes that it is there

so the card and router should be of this or higher standard (4G).

I don't understand one thing, how will I have coverage on my phone? (Currently no net at -1).

In general, I just want to "transfer" the signal from the outside to the inside, without the need for amplification because the signal outside is good.

The only difference is the larger antenna, so there is a probability that it will get a better signal.

It is enough to transmit the signal from the outside. inside without loss on the way.

I missed a little thing that my colleague wants to strengthen the GSM signal for communication (phone calls), not to the Internet :)

    2. Coming back to the topic, however

I advise against it because these are powerful amplifiers with an area of about 300 m2, they can interfere with the reception of nearby RTV equipment.
I do not know the current regulations on setting up my own gsm signal amplifiers, but note below.

NOTE: Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of August 19, 2011 (Journal of Laws No. 188, item 1122), in force since March 13, 2012, each person using a GSM repeater, not being a telecommunications undertaking with a nationwide reservation of frequencies used to provide services for via base stations, must obtain a radio license.

    b) you can use a GSM gate (e.g. Vodafone RL-500) into which you insert a SIM card and put the whole thing on or by the window.

An external antenna will be connected to the gate, searching for the strongest signal.
Any analog wired or wireless telephone can be connected to the gateway.

The device did its job, not only did it transfer the signal, it also strengthened it. In the middle I have a full range of 3g. Thanks for the help :)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around finding an affordable GSM amplifier to enhance 3G network coverage in a subterranean living space (level -1) where the signal is currently non-existent. Users suggest alternatives to a traditional amplifier, such as a GSM router placed outside or near a window, which can connect devices via WiFi. The conversation highlights the importance of having a compatible SIM card for internet access and the need for a solution that effectively transmits the existing good signal from outside to inside without significant loss. Several specific amplifier models are recommended, with users sharing their experiences and outcomes after purchasing them, confirming that the chosen devices not only transferred but also strengthened the signal.
