I am in the process of switching to another car (from Renault Clio II to Mercedes W203 sport coupe) and I am looking for the best solution for my requirements.
Currently, I had a Nexus 7 tablet, which I used as navigation and to play music with the ViperFX equalizer, as well as to collect statistics from the routes traveled. The sound from the tablet was sent to a wireless bluetooth receiver, and it was connected to the Clarion CZ-101 radio via the AUX connector. Radio connected to the Hertz HCP 2 amplifier, and Hertz EV 165 speakers in the soundproofed door. To control music while driving and to switch between navigation and the player I used a mini gamepad on bluetooth Modecom Volcano VR mini, to which I wrote an application that supports button pressing events and various extras, such as adjusting the volume of music to the speed of the car. As for my requirements, the whole worked really well and the sound quality was also suitable for me.
Now, however, in the second car I would like to additionally mount a reversing camera and therefore I need a monitor. I do not want to use the tablet for this, because I use the default ROM on it and I do not have the option of simultaneously charging and connecting usb devices, and the battery will not last long (even under 2.4A charger it can discharge while driving). I tested many ROMs and unfortunately I had different stability problems with everyone, most often internet connection dropping, bluetooth problems and sometimes freezing of the currently running application. Then only the device restart helped, and while driving it was not convenient. Now the default ROM is ok, so I don't want to change anything on this tablet.
Therefore, I am thinking about 2din Chinese radios with Android, it would be a combination of radio and tablet in one device, and besides it would have AV input in to the camera. Everything is cool, but I'm interested in a few things that I haven't found the answer to.
1) Battery powered - do such radios have them? What happens if I first turn the ignition to the first level to turn on the radio and then start the engine? The radio will restart or maintain its operation?
2) Will turning on the camera turn off the music, or will everything continue to play?
3) Sound quality - probably not the best, so will the amplifier save the situation or should I not expect it?
Summarizing:
- I need something with Android (it could be a radio, it could be a tablet).
- There must be the best possible sound quality with many equalizer settings (ViperFX on the tablet + bass boost in Clarion CZ-101 was ok for me).
- The camera can be connected so that turning on the camera does not turn off the music.
* AUX and AV in connectors on the back of the radio are welcome to minimize the number of visible cables.
** No problem when the tablet discharges while charging while driving.
I am asking for your help in choosing and suggestions.
Thank you in advance
