    Patient: Touran 1.6 TDI 2012
For the car to start, you have to spin for 10 seconds even sometimes longer. If it lights up, the engine shreds, then it calms down and then the same. The pressure on the strip fluctuates + - 20-30 Bar. I unfasten the fuel temperature sensor and the car burns but it's still chopping. Compression pressure OK, injections, fuel pump, whole rail OK, pump in tank OK. Gentlemen, what else can be ruled out here? I even changed the shaft sensor and zero improvement, the engine after breaking the timing belt - the head made.

Maybe something slowed down or the electrical system went down. Is the V-belt well fitted? As the timing belt went, maybe the water pump broke, or the valves for repair. There is a good chance for valves

Coded injections, timing OK, zero errors, sometimes error: low fuel pressure at start

And this error is your problem. I understand that the problem began after the engine was repaired
What fuel pressure does it show at start-up?
temperature sensor shows good on the computer?
Egr sometimes likes to do such a joke, maybe someone was poking around the driver and playing with start maps
Injectors checked on the table, of course?
    fuel temp also shows good?
Checked for leaks in the fuel system and cr?

Hello, has the problem been resolved? I have the same case with my Octavia 1.6tdi car, it starts hard, and when it starts up at idle as if it was flooded with fuel or something like that - it works hard, at high revs the sound of the engine is ok, only strongly smokes from the exhaust. At low speed it can choke on its own and when it goes off it is hard to fire it again. Timing on characters compression checked.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2012 VW Touran 1.6 TDI experiencing hard starting, heavy smoking, fluctuating fuel pressure, and engine issues post-timing belt failure. The owner reports that the engine requires prolonged cranking to start, and once running, it exhibits erratic behavior and significant exhaust smoke. Various components, including the fuel pump, injectors, and compression, have been checked and found to be functioning correctly. The owner has also replaced the shaft sensor without improvement. Responses suggest checking the V-belt, timing, fuel pressure at startup, and potential issues with the EGR system. Another user shares a similar experience with an Octavia 1.6 TDI, indicating that these symptoms may be common among VW's 1.6 TDI engines.
