Hello, I just bought a Passat B6 from 2006 which has 242 thousand kilometers driven, the course I do not know if it's real, but the papers show that :) and I would like to change his oil for some good one. I was thinking about Motul because he has a lot of good reviews but I do not know the parameters because I heard that he must have some standards. How do I check them? Currently, Castrol 5w40 was cast but I also do not know exactly what I found it on the card attached to the engine. Please, specify exactly what Motul oil I need to buy?

    Hello

I have this engine in Golf V and pours 8100 X-clean 5W-40 exchange every 15,000 km.
Once I was flooding him with some Elf and it was good too. Oil consumption of 1l in those 15 thousand I had castrol, it took a little more than 1l.

    greetings

Engine oil with unit injectors must comply with VW 505.1 (replacement every 15,000 km), VW 506.1 (Long Live mode), VW 507 507 (for engines with DPF and Long Live).

The manufacturer sets standards for the product on each original motor oil package.
SAE standard (so-called temperature) - for our climate area - 5W40.
API standard (so-called qualitative American) - recommended - SJ / CF.
    ACEA standard (so-called qualitative European) - recommended - A3 / B4.
OEM standard (so-called qualitative engine manufacturer - for VW injector pumps) 505.01 .
These w. Wym. the standard should meet oil for the VW 1.9 TDI / PD engine.
The oil producer is to be recognized by the driver. I use Castrol EDGE Turbodiesel 5W40 for my Bora - this was flooded with new products.
