Good morning,
I have a problem with an office computer, my father recently brought such equipment from work, because they exchange in the company for a newer one.
Specification:
- Processor: Intel Pentium E6300 2 x 2.8 GHz,
- Motherboard: Intel DG31GL (B),
- Chipset: G33 Express,
- South Bridge: 82801GB,
- System: Windows XP x86,
- Graphics: P35 / G33 (Bearlake) Integrated Graphics Controller,
- BIOS: AMI,
- RAM memory: 2 x 512 MB 667 MHz DDR2 Dual-Channel Kingston (KVR667D2N5 / 512),
- Power supply: Logic 400W (LOGIC-400ATX),
- Network Card: Intel PRO / 100 VE,
- Audio: 82801G HD Audio,
- Disk: Samsung: HD322HJ 320 GB;
The computer started up normally the first time, I was able to rip the data to an external disk, it walked a little slowly because it was misconfigured (1.5 GB of memory consumption after system startup). He worked only an hour. The only setting that I changed was the monitor resolution, I adjusted it to Full HD. I have researched what hardware I am dealing with with programs like CrystalDiskInfo and CPU-Z. Then I restarted the equipment. (Computer has shut down normally, restart function).
When the computer rebooted from the BIOS level, it made 4 short beeps, did not turn on. Please note that nothing was tampering with it in the meantime, opened, etc.
I thought it was because of the dust, like in office computers. I thoroughly cleaned the entire central unit, including the power supply. I put the kit back together and tried to run. The sounds from the speaker are the same.
Four short - Error related to the system clock.
What I have already tried:
- any combination with RAM,
- reset the BIOS settings when removing the battery,
- more thorough cleaning of the contacts in the RAM memory slots,
- remove RAM of the same type from another computer and insert into the slot,
- theoretically exchange (I'm not sure it's not new) for a working battery for the BIOS memory;
When removing RAM from the slots and starting the computer - 3 short beeps.
When removing memory from this computer and inserting a working one from another - 4 short beeps.
When removing RAM memory and BIOS battery - no sounds.
Three short - problem related to the problem of reading the first segment of RAM (64KB)
Is there anyone who has had a similar hardware problem?
How did he solve it?
Can it be bypassed without visiting the site?
Anyone else have any ideas on how to solve this problem, what to try?
I really care about this computer. I don't want to see the first answers like "Take it to the site if you care!"
Sincerely,
Eisenmann

UPDATE: I also tried it with a battery that is 100% functional, to no avail - still 4 sounds.
