Hello, I am new and I am looking for someone wise to advise me, namely the power steering pump that has failed me. I cannot afford a new one and I want to buy a used one. Can I follow the car model and engine power or do I need the pump number? I would like to add that the pump for electric-hydraulic power steering, auto Ford fiesta 2005, Mk6, diesel, 1.6 engine. I wanted to order from Allegro but there is so much there that I have doubts myself. I don't know if I can read the number from the old pump.

When you do not have the number visible, it is best to call the seller (have VIN prepared) to present the case and he will certainly help you choose the right pump.

Connect the car to the computer and log in to the pump controller, if it is alive, it will be there to read the pump number.
You can disassemble the pump and there will be a sticker inside with the number on the motherboard - unless you replace the transistors and repair the pump.

I have already talked to one electromechanic and the pump will be dismantled, he will order and he will do it. I am worried about this number because when there was a regular card, I do not know if there was anything left of it. with AC and about 4 months ago the power steering started to go crazy once it worked once not, as it turned out the pump was stuck with tape, they did not put a new one. Is it possible to drive somewhere before this pump comes, or is it better not to move the car?

And how was it ? Heart stopped on the shoulder, no way to turn without assistance, and stuff like that?
If you got used to driving without power steering, you might. Oh yes? You will drive into a tree or into people ...
It works toto at all, how do you remove the fuse or plugs from the pump?
By the way, you are looking at auctions, sometimes people think that they know what they are selling and what about other stores? http://e-katalog.intercars.com.pl/#/ekatalog/osobowe/towary/18329/803010000/

There is to be a sticker inside the pump with the number on the chip.

If you have strength in your hands, you can go without assistance - it is uncomfortable to maneuver with the trailer.

Listen, I have a problem with the pump again, the pump bought according to the number, the electromechanic connected, the fluid was replaced with a new one, and today the power steering does not work again. I ask what's going on? Everything was ok, it was running smoothly, does anyone have any idea ??????

Log in to the pump controller which errors it lists, check the pump power supply, whether the connection has overheated at the fuses.
Check the correctness of the readings from the steering column angle sensor.

I do not know what the problem is, but when I got into the car later, everything worked and it is ok today, and even one more after driving a section and parking something started to squeak, I do not know how to describe it, it is such a pulling sound uuuuuuu :) Later it stopped, it was Sunday so I gave up, today nothing squeaks and everything works. I thought that maybe it was because of yesterday's rain because it was pouring terribly and maybe it washed my wires or something, I don't know. Go where they did a mythical pump or maybe I can watch some time what's next ???

Check the alternator belt - replace, the pump needs a lot of electricity.

Well, it broke again, the pump did not work, no power steering, I was driving the car on the road, something started to squeak and I could hear uneven work under the hood, something gurgled and made puuuffffffffff and that's it. I couldn't stop. I called the electromechanic where they put the pump on and says that you have to buy a completely new one because it was used and that's why it broke, this is the 3rd power steering pump and always the same problem. Help people, what could be wrong ??????
