    Hello, I made a CDI ignition according to the instructions of my colleague Szymon and post viewtopic.php? F = 118 & t = 17870
everything worked motorek rode and it was ok until connecting the battery. I connected the battery and before firing, the lights, horn and ignition went on until I tried to fire. After kicking the kick, the motor did not start, the lights and horn ceased to operate. Before I connected the battery, I measured the voltage and polarity on the cables to the battery and there was about 18 volts DC without load, I also connected the polarity well. After this damage, I noticed that the ignition module is warm as well as the battery and cable + as I touch the battery it is sparking or shorting. My question is what could have broken down and what could have been the reason for the fault.

    Diagram of my installation below.

Is battery voltage not extinguished on the module extinguishing cable? This is the only explanation. Did you check how you connected the ignition switch?

And where does 18V come from? Good meter?

18 volts but I measured it. No load. I don't know with the ignition. But when I used a motor without a battery, the lights were long, short, the horn turned off.

A small fix. I replaced the regulator and the engine starts. I noticed how the ignition is on extinguishing there is a short on the cables that go to the battery. In turn, when I start the motor, the battery cables have a constant voltage of 30 V. Anyone got an idea for this?

Checking the "charging voltage" without a battery is pointless.
If the regulator has "sense" input, then its input must be supplied with voltage "after the ignition". Without it, the regulator will overcharge the battery. However, the Chinese can make a pipe sense cable, and inside connect them directly to the battery - such a regulator steals the battery current at a standstill.
Make sure you connect the ignition switch.
