    Hello,

    Car Opel Astra G, 1.6, 16V, Z16XE, 2003.

What can it tick / tick like in the attached movie? A video recorded around the oil drain plug. You can't hear this chirping at the top, only at the bottom. The engine is after renovation due to taking oil: bushings, rings, regeneration of the head. The oil now burns about 100 ml / 10,000 km. The noise is the same both before and after renovation.

A similar sound as if there was a crank in the piston on the pin, loose or wrongly selected crank shells.

As I mentioned before and after the renovation, the same. If there was a backlash somewhere, they would notice. The renovation was done by a company that specializes in Opel and has already made several dozen of such engines. I don't think they did something wrong or did it. The more that the sound disappears the hotter the engine. In the cold it is most audible. I am still waiting for any suggestions.

You did not write that they replaced the pistons, only the rings. When it gets hot, the slack will be erased.

What is the oil pressure on a cold engine with idle and warm ones?

Oil pan not crumpled? The splash guard on the crankshaft is not touching the bowl, or the dragon?

    1. Idle, engine warm: 0.12 MPa
    2. Increased speed: 0.4 MPa

I did not measure it in the cold.

The oil pan is not crumpled.

It was the same for me
The same renovation, everything as you wrote and you probably had to replace the piston and possibly the sleeves
Everyone says that the crowd on the turn is knocking

Hard to say. I have already done tens of thousands of kilometers. If it were something with a piston, it would have fallen apart a long time ago. This is what it is with good old 20-year-old engines, knocking, knocking and not wanting to fall apart.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a ticking or knocking sound emanating from a 2003 Opel Astra G (1.6L, 16V, Z16XE) near the oil drain plug. The owner reports that the noise persists even after a comprehensive engine renovation, which included replacing bushings, rings, and regenerating the head. The sound is more pronounced when the engine is cold and diminishes as it warms up. Responses suggest potential issues with crankshaft components, oil pressure, and the possibility of needing piston replacement. Despite the ongoing noise, the vehicle remains operational without significant performance issues.
