    Welcome,
Here is the last of two brushes that fell in the same way - from water :)
The funny thing is that it's almost equal to the end of the guarantee. If any of you have one, I recommend opening and drying it because water is collected which destroys it over time.
We open them by lifting the lid on the bottom of the brush, which should go out without a problem.
Then we clamp the casing from the narrower sides and push the entire chip from the top.

If you want your electric toothbrush to last longer, do not use water while brushing your teeth!

I do not know how this water is going to get there. I wet the brush head, apply the paste and brush my teeth. After washing, I disconnect the personal part of the device, the drive lands on the charger and the tip is broken and put in place. The splash-proof drive has practically no contact with water ...

I saw on YouTube a movie on which the entire interior of the brush was packed into a condom and then closed back in the casing. Unfortunately, the condom broke apart after the first application of the brush head on the metal pin. The author of the film claimed it was nothing, but I wonder if it would not be possible to polish it a little bit and put on the condom a bit differently, not on the whole mechanism together with the pin, and below the pin. How do you think - can do this and do not spoil the brush? Greetings.

I think it's a good idea, tie the tip below the pin, for example with a line, and it should be fine.

You will not make a shit with a shit. They were not invented to be eternal and prevent caries.
It's just a gadget for the lazy ones. You can not avoid the dentist.

You buy miracles thinking that you are a bullet and then you can not afford it again? It spoiled itself, it is buying a new one and not putting it in the condom. Great fun. The condensate will not evaporate and it will not evaporate.

The very picture tells us that it is a gadget what should be broken why? No protective coating on the PCB to protect against moisture.
We simply have producers that plan to break down already at the design stage.

A professional product would have been flooded with a pickle and the switch would be on a reed with a magnet that would not corrode the contacts of the switch. In a word, such a construction would be eternal. But it can not be so because it misses the goal of economics.

I have been using such toothbrushes for at least 14 years. The first one served me for about 10 years and is still running, but without a rechargeable battery. It is powered from the power supply and is used to clean various trinkets. At that time she was cleaned several times. The second one has been used for about 8 years and has not been dismantled yet. When cleaning my teeth I try to keep it in a horizontal position. After brushing my teeth I always rinse the brush (tip) under the water, take off the tip, and from the support of the drive shaft, shake the water by flicking the brush body several times.

Unfortunately, these Philips are a sell. In the first versions, this rubber bellows rubbed between the metal vibrating pin and the brush. As a result, the water was coming in. Of course, Philips does not offer any brush parts, because for what.
In later versions, they put a plastic cover on the elastic band and the problem was significantly reduced.
I have already patched this electronics 4 times.
In one of them fatigue of the material in the vibrating blade and burst ...
Do not put it vertically, because the water pulls through the thin O-ring from the bottom and floods the electronics, which of course is not even painted. Therefore, the brush should be placed horizontally, and the o-ring should be cleaned and smeared with Teflon grease once in a while.

In total, I made one of the three brushes, which has been amazingly working every day for 2 years.

One more thing. It's black on the elastic, it's not dirt. This is the "disease" of the gum, or its evaporation. The reason is one - the mixture used by the manufacturer aims to shorten the life of the gasket. For me, the first spots appeared after ~ year.

Nothing can be eternal, especially in these times. If not water, the plates or the battery will rise.
The eraser is designed for the right number of cycles. You can buy it from our friends from the Far East, you can enter Hq9332 in the search engine on aliexpress. Whenever I disassemble the brush for the first time, I secure it with a varnish for printed circuit boards and trim the locks so that the next time it is easy to take it apart.

    Etched eyelets at:
    - button

After soldering the 0.25mm wire into the vias, soldering on both sides and replacing the gasket, the brush opened.

Could you speak on the merits?
The thread is not about tooth cleaning techniques or dental advice, it is about brush repair.
    I reported to the moderator.

yes, which one time in turn. Yesterday I already read it. This is called spamming because nobody here is interested in such variants, but only in repairing the toothbrush.

Coming back to the topic, I plan to flood my PCB with Contact. I have 2 more such brushes and I do not want them to die.
Do you have any other idea to protect the PCB against corrosion? Best proven.

Nice essay, but could you please clarify:

Ad.2.2 How should I stick the housing in place of the rubber gasket? The seal vibrates and the adhesive breaks, or too stiff adhesive will immobilize the head.

Ad.2.3; 2.4; 2.5 How to pour the sealing compound or other things so that the moving parts, i.e. buttons, electromagnet and moving mechanics are not flooded, which will immobilize them.

I listed it in # 9. The plate can be protected with varnish, but this will not protect the brush from damage in case of flooding. In addition to the electronics, there is also a mechanic that is also not resistant to water.
