The best cpu for your board is the Core (TM) 2 Extreme QX9770 or the Core (TM) 2 Quad Q9650

Generally, you will put all Core2Duo and Core2Quad into this board. So according to your budget.
    Is it profitable? Doubtful...
The board will likely support the converted Xeon processors. Such more efficient and cheaper Core2Duo / Quad ;) Although today not so cheaper ...

What other equipment? Power supply / RAM / graphics card?
If you have access to CHEAP components, you can have fun. Buying at Allegro prices does not make sense.

Look for a new (used) computer rather.

    No sense!

What the rest of the computer configuration?

If a colleague asks what slinger, although he provided a link to the album, it means that he will not cut the xeon socket.

You think everyone will buy a cpu from the link you provided. Maybe bios (microcodes will also play themselves in mobo ...!)

A smaller philosophy than the assembly of a new CPU - because the processor will not change itself :)

I think so and I also think that he will not buy the QX9770 you recommend :shii:

In the question of what is the best gaming processor, what is the most profitable one, but which is the best = more efficient

You write nonsense and I recommend you start thinking!

Have you seen what the prices of the QX9770 are?
    https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_tr...1313.TR2.TRC1.A0.H0.TRS0&_nkw=QX9770&_sacat=0

Q9650 is also an expense of ~ PLN 300 - and for this you can buy MOBO + i3 + 4GB RAM.

    PS. Read the question again!

PS2. I'm skipping the fact that this board doesn't support the QX9770 :)

If the author of the question damages the flash bone, who do you think he will feel sorry for. Start to think it doesn't hurt :P

You are such a professional ("computer service technician") that you recommend a CPU not only for $ 200, but also one that will not run on this disc :shii:

PS. Probably even to Q9650 he will have to update the bios.

LGA775 reanimation ONLY on Xeons if the board can be converted.
Nothing else makes sense in terms of price / performance.
Many CDs don't need a modified bios to work relatively well, nevertheless a modified bios is recommended.
The CPU sockets do not need to be cut as before. The CPU has been slashed for a long time, and they are in the trade. So it's plug'n'play.

No application stickers, no cutting of delicate sockets. At most uploading a new BIOS.

And a good Xeonik on a good album (maybe not the author's ...) still has a kick! :D
But it's more of a game for enthusiasts / desperates. Prices not these anymore. Unless we pull from Aliexpress. There they are for dog money.

The appropriate bios for the disc is here: http://tanieprocesory.pl/bios2/

    For this: http://www.delidded.com/lga-771-to-775-adapter/3/
    Gigabyte 965P-S3 (rev 3.3) P965 / ICH8 1333 >= 130

    Q9650 (unofficial), QX9650 (unofficial)
65nm quads (officially), but probably also 45nm quads (unofficially)
    Worked: E5440 (C0), X5260 (3.33GHz dual core)

If it is not an urgent matter, it is worth buying on ali, the prices are much lower than on the allegro.

Overall, I'm just starting my adventure with intel because my computer now has a socket for AMD processors, so I didn't even think about intel, but I wanted to help my friend with his computer, but I have a problem with choosing this processor. I saw that they have high clock speed and are very cheap so I was surprised and I wanted to ask someone who knows more about them and hence the question whether it would be difficult to convert this album or better not to bother and buy this Core? 2 Extreme QX9770?

After all, the GA website states that this board does not support QX9770. Why are you doing something you don't know? In addition, you do not even want to read what the manufacturer wrote on the site, not to mention what was given in this thread.

Even the Q9650 costs over three times as much as the E5440, which has already been written ...

I also don't know what kind of "modification" of the album you mean.

As for the Xeons, it is enough to mount it and that's it, sometimes a bios is also required (I gave the link).

If you do not know what conversion is going on, read the last post of the cockroach and if you would like to know, I read everything you write here and I appreciate that you want to help me, I am not ignorant as you think. I am taking it because I want to learn and gain experience, no one knows what will happen in the future and as if I would say this to myself every time why should I go to the computer if I do not know myself, today I would not do anything in it and I'd think the only way out of getting more FPS is to buy a new computer. If you are going to help me, help me and possibly write what I am doing wrong or something because I did not come here to hear that I am ignorant and that I do not want to do things that I have no idea about.

Cockroach wrote only biosie, it's hard to call it reworking. I have already given you the bios, uploading the bios is the only thing you have to do. Everyone advises you on which processor to choose, and you still yours.

Also, don't put spaces before periods and commas, isn't it that hard? You wrote yourself that you want to learn, maybe it's time?

Still yours what? And I will put a space where I want that, I already have a writing style and it probably doesn't make your reading difficult, right? Everyone helped me and I thank them for that.

It's not a writing style, someone didn't teach you to write, but it's never too late to learn: http://kursdlaopornych.pl/writer/pisanie/interpunkcja/

You insist on QX9770 even though everyone advised you against it before, I omit paul165 who wrote anything without checking. Added to this is the question of the price of this processor, which exceeds the value of the entire set ...

For me, this is a writing style and I don't care what you think about it, because you don't mind when I write and I don't insist on this processor, I just wrote 1 time about it, I could simply not notice this post.

    Added after 1 [minutes]:

And at the very beginning, he mentioned this process

He replaced and so what? Kasek21 He corrected it right away, and also wrote that the board does not support this processor.

But you have the E5440 a few times, but of course you did not notice. As I wrote earlier, you did not want to read the thread you created yourself, then why are you writing? To show off that you can't put spaces correctly and you don't care? Then you have achieved your goal.

What is the point of creating a thread and not reading it? So that you can collect the points?

I can analyze this thread at any time, thank you for your "help".

I wrote that in the past you had to physically modify the socket or CPU. Once upon a time, this modification was just gaining popularity. First, the socket was cut (I cut it too), it was not difficult, but some manual skills are required for this. For this application of a sticker that changes 2 pins in places, also independently.
Then someone polished the Xeon so you don't have to cut the socket, and found it good ;) The stickers were still pounding, or you could buy stuck ones.

Today, only reworked plays are likely to be traded today. Notched and with a welded adapter that converts the pins. You can recognize them by the 4 cuts on the sides. 2 original and 2 after modification, because the Xeons are inserted turned 90 degrees in relation to the C2D.

Therefore, the only thing you need to do is upload a modified bios.
    The CPU itself is plug'n'play.

And it all started with a factory quite strange Xeon board on a chipset intended for C2D ... And wise people started to explore the topic of how this can be done ... ;)

Topic summary

The discussion centers around selecting the best processor for the Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 motherboard to achieve 80 FPS in games like CS: GO and League of Legends. Recommendations include the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 and Core 2 Quad Q9650, although concerns are raised about compatibility and cost-effectiveness. Users suggest considering Xeon processors, particularly the E5440, which may offer better performance for the price. The conversation highlights the need for potential BIOS updates and the feasibility of using modified Xeon CPUs without physical socket alterations. Overall, the consensus leans towards Xeon processors as a more viable option for budget-conscious gamers.
