Hi. There is or there isn't - depending:
    - what applications you want to buy it for and what you expect from it
    - what kind of motherboard you have
    - how much you want it to cost

This provides the answer to one of the three questions. We are moving in the right direction.

So far I haven't thought about what budget.

    Or overclocking the CPU?

The bare and poor power phases on this board allow us to assume that overclocking on this board will be quite limited. But possible at all, as there will be an unlocked multiplier on this configuration. So if you want to play around with OC and budget isn't important, why not. I'd spend a maximum of £100 on a ten year old processor of this class and you can buy it for that much.

Don't forget a reasonable grade thermal heatpaste and better than BOX cooling if you want to approach the OC topic.

I have an oversized heatsink, the power supply is also Bequiet
What kind of CPU do you suggest?

I misread the first post. You don't want to change to, just from an I5-3570K. So you can on an I7-3770K, but for internet browsing it doesn't make much sense.

    How about switching to an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz ? Socket 1155

With the current advancements and prices under your old platform, it doesn't make any sense.
From whichever side you look at it. Performance-wise or price-wise.
Sell as soon as possible while this hardware has not yet entered the retro zone.

I did this two years ago and still managed to get something reasonable out of it.
You have the last call to sell it.
After that, it's on to the three Mirindas from the Frog Shop....

Hello, your advice is "priceless". The author uses the computer to browse the internet. And he asks, is it worth changing the processor? It's not worth it, because what he has is sufficient for that. If he was looking for a processor(or computer) for gaming, then a replacement could be advised.

Well that's interesting, why then is he even asking if the one he has works perfectly well. "I have a processor that performs well and there are no problems with it and I'm happy with the performance, but all in all I would do something because I have 3 hundred dollars too much I will take the time of the people on the electrode to understand what I'm even talking about." - Either that or something is wrong with the performance after all, but that's something we'll have to ask the topic manager I guess. I'm not ruling out either option.

Since you already have an i5 and the computer is supposed to be for browsing the internet then it doesn't make much sense to change it, alternatively you might be interested in the topic of xeon e3 as you can often find good bargains.

This adds little to the topic. If you have any thoughts on whether the Author's processor is worth replacing with another - that's the topic and worth writing about.

    All in all, you're right.
After much thought, I don't see much sense in such a change. Internet works, Linux on board. That's what I thought as well, but wanted to make sure and get other people's opinions. Thank you all for your time.
