In my Berlingo, the horn always works without the key or with the key inserted. After the ignition is turned on, it works only occasionally, and after starting the engine, it does not work at all.

Where to look for the problem? There is a BSM B2 module from SIEMENS installed in the car, maybe this information will be useful.

And you tried to remove the pillow and check the contacts on the steering wheel, I also had a faulty horn and the steering wheel was at fault.

In my Partner, the horn worked without a problem - when there was no key in the ignition switch, after inserting the key it did not ... The problem solved itself when I repaired the broken torsion tape which is in the steering wheel under the airbag. After the tape is repaired, the signal works approx.

In fact, the contacts in the steering wheel are to blame, it is enough to clean and bend a little and why it works on the removed key is no longer understood :D

Comprehended. There is no weight on the shaft and when you remove the key, the lock pops up and "does too much weight".

Gentlemen, maybe someone will help you with a diagram of the horn? My horn does not work either, but first, before I start to disassemble everything, I would like to ring the veins, and for this I need a diagram. The diagram I have from Hayens' book does not coincide, because the horn is controlled by the mass from under the pillow. Maybe someone will tell you which of the veins running from under the steering wheel (from the plug in the second photo) is from the horn control.

Not necessarily so, as the lock snaps into place when you move the steering wheel. For me, just inserting the key was enough and it didn't work anymore. It even seems to me that bringing the transponder of the key closer to the ignition switch caused the signal to die ...

Citroen Berlingo 1.6 HDI (2008), exactly the same symptoms - no horn!
Thanks to my colleagues, after checking the fuses, I used the indicated diagnostic path:
    1.Remove the key,
    2. Lock the steering wheel
and the horn works - I was not looking for more, but I immediately started to disassemble the steering wheel and I give pictures for posterity:
1 I took off the steering column cover to make it easier to target those holes on the back of the steering wheel

2 I propped the steering wheel with a screwdriver after jumping off the next horns

3 To illustrate, this is what the spring looks like, which you need to "unhook" through these holes

These contacts on the corners are already bent in the photo, but the material they are made of (some tinplate) is very soft, so it's no wonder that if you hit the horn too much, they bend back and then no longer touch.

In my case, regardless of whether the key was in the ignition switch or not, the horn worked only with the steering wheel locked.

Hi. I don't know what I am doing wrong. according to me 2 steering wheel 2 plates were bent. I straightened them and it didn't help. The horn works but when I put the key in it doesn't.

Topic summary
