Hello. I have such a problem with the 2002 1.6 16v version 1 after the lifts. Well, there are vibrations at idle. They are not felt in the driver's cab, the revolutions do not ripple. When you open the hood, you can see how the engine shakes gently and its work is not equal. Starts normally, combustion is normal, dynamics in driving is also ok. I replaced the candles, cleaned the throttle and gave new O-rings from the filter and intake side. As for the coils, I checked them only for the primary winding, the range of results is from 1.2 to 1.5 Ohm. 1.5 is for bogicord coil, the others are two eldor and one beru coils. In the bogicord coil, I noticed that the spring in its center that connects to the candle is loose and it takes years to shake. There is no such thing in the others. Perhaps it is such a characteristic of the coil. But I won't find it because I have no comparison. I also plan to check them in such a way that I will disconnect each of them one by one and check how the engine behaves. The only fear is whether or not I will make engine errors. The timing still comes to mind because it was replaced six months ago. It's just that these symptoms appeared recently and if it depended on it, it seems to me that these symptoms would be more noticeable. I also replaced the battery, maybe its disconnection resulted in a reset of the settings, but it seems to me that there is no slowspeed adaptation process in the renow as it was, for example, in lanos. If someone had a similar problem, I would ask for advice.

16-valve engines in refurbishments like to vibrate much more strongly than engines in other cars of a similar class. In the Scenic 1.6 it vibrated, now in Grand the two-liter also vibrates - clearly stronger than in the Nissan Micra 1.0.

Lower engine mount, the so-called eight, working? Isn't it broken? In my RX4, the engine was also vibrating before it was replaced.
As for the coils, it's not a vulture and change all of them to Beru and you'll have peace. I bought stimulants for PLN 20 apiece.

As for the coils, today I bought a set of used densos. It turned out that this is not the fault of the coils, because the engine works the same as on the previous ones, but I will leave them anyway because it is better to have a complete set than any other parish. I am still wondering about the exhaust manifold. I seem to feel a bit of exhaust fumes with it. The question now is whether without the channel it would be possible to dismantle it, or is it not real?

If you feel exhaust fumes, do not dismantle the manifold right away, but look at the flexible connection between the elements of the exhaust from below.

    Did you check the eight?

The cause is likely a leak in the exhaust manifold. Now the question is, is its disassembly in Renault something extremely complicated, apart from the fact of rusty bolts that can twist, does it sometimes have a weld joint? And the question is whether to dismantle it you also have to download the intake?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around engine vibrations at idle in a 2002 Renault Megane 1.6 16v. The user reports that while the vibrations are visible when the hood is opened, they are not felt inside the cabin, and engine performance remains normal. Initial troubleshooting included replacing spark plugs, cleaning the throttle, and checking ignition coils, with one coil showing a loose spring. Responses suggest that 16-valve engines tend to vibrate more than others, and the lower engine mount (referred to as "eight") may be a potential issue. The user later considers the exhaust manifold as a possible source of the problem, especially after detecting exhaust fumes. Suggestions include inspecting the flexible connection of the exhaust and confirming the condition of the lower engine mount before disassembling the manifold, which may involve complications such as rusty bolts and potential welds.
