Good morning,
I have an Acer Aspire E1-571 laptop, Broadcom 802.11n network card
At the beginning I do not know wireless network, so far I could only connect to the network. I never needed this knowledge.
And in the school years I worked cable.
I used WiFi normally, i.e. the UPC wireless network. One day I got an offer for a regular customer, faster internet for slightly higher costs and many interesting options for a TV set which I agreed to. After installing the decoder and modem, problems occurred.
My laptop computer has been connected to the network, however, there is still an inscription: connection is limited, so I cannot use the Internet. Wifi (wireless works on every laptop I tested and there were many). The cable works fine without any errors.
I use the landline for work, and there is a modem in this room. I'm not sure if I can use wifi on a landline, I don't think I have this option. In this room I also have a printer, and I have no place to build a desk with a laptop, moreover, I want to be able to operate in another room along with moving the laptop anywhere in the apartment. So the option of permanent connection is my last resort, but here with this initiative I will come back at the end.
I have already tried to do a lot, basically I don't know if I will find anything new. However, I am ready to do something again, and maybe it will bring the effect of a final solution to the problem. During the diagnosis, information was revealed that there were problems with the network card.
I cannot renew my previous modem, where everything worked perfectly, the old modem did not have new TV options, and it worked poorly.
What I don't understand:
In the network settings on page 192.168.0.1 there is information that my modem works as a router, if I change to the modem I will not have the wireless option (this is the inscription), it can be changed here.
My thoughts:
Can formatting something work? Maybe the system will forget the data of the old network and make an agreement with it? I formatted less than a month ago. Since formatting, it really only worked for two weeks, because I changed the case and cleaned the laptop in a professional service. So viruses etc. should not be.
My possible suggestions if we can't find a solution to the problem.
1. I have a TL-WR841N Tp-link 300 mbps router
- to create a subnet and connect to it, I have the impression that I probably did not manage to achieve this effect or if I did it, it did not solve the problem of limiting the connection.
- possibly connect the TL-WR841N router to the modem in the wireless network, i.e. in another room the modem network will catch and to this TL-WR841N router connect the laptop by cable, if possible.
I will add again the record that I have already tried many solutions from different sites and forum, so please do not write that it was already, because everyone has individual problems. I've been looking at every spare moment since August 26. It doesn't make me sleep, I am not a man who goes to the easy way, I found solutions for laptops many times when people after IT schools talked about throwing equipment in the trash. Unfortunately, I do not know the wireless network department. I don't know if buying a network card will change anything, because the problem occurred after the network was changed. I will try to connect the laptop to another network in the near future, but it will not be so easy and it will certainly take time, it may take up to several days.
greetings
