And is a colleague sure that the manufacturer's website has drivers for Windows 7? :)
More drivers are missing.
1) chipset - install at the beginning from the website of the chipset manufacturer:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/200...tility-Primarily-for-Intel-6-5-4-3-900-Series -Chipsets-Zip-Format? Product = 1145
2) WiFi - download, unpack, install via device manager (network controller) pointing to the directory with the unpacked driver:
https://www.ath-drivers.eu/download-driver-nr-310-for-atheros-AR956x-and- Windows7.html
3) LAN - download from the attachment, unpack, install via the device manager (Ethernet controller) like the WiFi driver.
4) USB 3.0 - these should work:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/211...0-eXtensible-Host-Controller-Driver-for-Intel -7-Series-C216-Chipset-Family
If any of them fail to install, let your friend know. There will be no driver for the Simple Communications controller (enter the id here and the appropriate driver will be found), it is also worth expanding the "graphics cards" category - if there is a standard VGA controller, it is worth entering its ID and installing the correct driver. If there is only one Intel graphic (PCI \ VEN_8086 & ...) then you can install this driver:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/268...el-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?product = 97499
If he uses a Touchpad Mate and wants finger scrolling and other advanced functions to work - you also need to enter the ID of the touchpad, it will be in the mice in the device manager (visible as a mouse).
Finally, keyboard shortcuts (screen brightness and more) are handled by Launch Manager. In the attachment LM for a slightly different Acer model, it should work with Windows 7 (the Win8 version cannot be installed under Win7). It should work, but check it out. In Attachment.
