    Hello all,
Today I turned on my Lenovo y50-70 laptop and the screen went pink on it and you can see the images that were previously displayed on the screen
This also happens in the BIOS and on the boot string "Lenovo". I suspect it may be a damaged matrix, because the image is normal on the connected monitor via HDMI.
Where can I find a compatible matrix with this model and what is the best choice?

    I found two such options

    1: LG LP156WF4 (SP) (L1)

    2 :. AU Optronics B156HAN01.2

    Which one to choose?

Refrain from replacing the matrix itself. You have the symbol on the back on the sticker when you remove the screen.
    First, replace the matrix wire.

Unfortunately, I do not have such a cable to test.
But when I move the screen, nothing happens.
Is it worth buying such a cable at the beginning?

    Start with the wire.
The possibility is also that the BGA chip is already fixing.

    Hello!
My screen has turned pink, so I will also have to replace the matrix, tell me how with the colors on the new matrix? It's better worse? They write that there is no such good image quality on the replacement.

In my opinion, this replacement is better than the factory-fitted one. The colors appear more vivid and the viewing angles better.

And how with the new matrix? Everything works? Have the problems come back?

It is very similar with me, but the screen is greenish and there are images from the previous day at the start.
During the previous days I sometimes had single white stripes, e.g. when rewinding films, etc., as there was a jump and a quick change of the image. Is that something with the motherboard though. When switching cards, it is the same, only slightly different colors.

After the exchange, everything is fine so far. Earlier, I also had a problem with the flickering screen and white horizontal stripes appearing. Now none of these problems occur.

I'm just going for a new matrix and I hope it will help :) because the motherboard is a bigger problem with laptops. Something this model is faulty, because I have read so many bad opinions about it and the problem with flickering ...

I have another question for you. Earlier, this matrix that broke. It was Full HD IPS? Any other?

yes it was Full HD, IPS. Anyway, the same matrix model as mine.
The matrix has been replaced with a new one and so far everything works fine. The colors seem even more vivid than the old one, I do not know if it is better or worse from the point of matrix quality, but in this one I see imperfections in the photos, e.g. on the faces of people in the photos, which I did not pay attention to before because they were not so visible. If only it would not turn out after a short period of time that this is something wrong with the motherboard and that is why the matrix crashes. At the point where I bought a new matrix, as I showed that you can see the history of what I already did when starting the computer, they said that they have been working with matrices for so many years, and they have not seen anything like that yet :)

I have been fine for 3 months and I hope it will stay that way :)
And I will ask out of curiosity what matrices did you buy?

also matte IPS. And as for the specific model, I do not know if it is some trash or not ... to be honest, I did not think about it, I just took what was in Krk right away to see if it was really just a matrix. I paid 240 zlotys for it. FAQ

TL;DR: Lenovo Y50-70 pink/green tint and ghosting often point to a failed LCD panel; one user paid 240 zł and said, "I paid 240 zlotys for it." Replace the panel or verify the cable first. [Elektroda, arshanter, post #16891209]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps Lenovo Y50-70 owners decide between LG LP156WF4 (SP)(L1) and AUO B156HAN01.2 and fix display faults fast.

Quick Facts

What does “matrix” mean in this thread?

Here, “matrix” means the laptop’s LCD panel assembly (the screen itself), not the GPU or motherboard. The OP sought a compatible matrix for the Lenovo Y50‑70 after display faults appeared. [Elektroda, Pabloku, post #16687980]

How do I confirm compatibility for my Lenovo Y50‑70 screen?

Open the lid bezel, lift the panel, and read the exact model from the rear sticker. Order the same type and connector. This avoids guesswork between LG LP156WF4 (SP)(L1) and AUO B156HAN01.2. [Elektroda, Przemko21, post #16688000]

Which panel fixed the issue in the thread?

Replacing with AU Optronics B156HAN01.2 resolved pink tint, ghosting, and flicker for the original poster, and issues did not return. [Elektroda, Pabloku, post #16706554]

Are colors and viewing angles better after replacement?

Users reported more vivid colors and better viewing angles after the swap compared with the factory panel. One wrote the replacement looked better overall. [Elektroda, Pabloku, post #16856523]

Could a bad cable cause these symptoms?

Yes. An experienced member advised starting with the display cable before swapping the panel. Quote: “Start with the wire.” This rules out a cheap, common fault. [Elektroda, Przemko21, post #16688632]

What about GPU or motherboard problems?

One risk is a failing BGA GPU/chipset, which can mimic panel faults. If cable and panel swaps don’t help, inspect the motherboard. This edge case was flagged early in the thread. [Elektroda, Przemko21, post #16688632]

How much should I expect to pay for a replacement panel?

A forum member paid about 240 zł for a matte IPS replacement sourced locally in Kraków. Prices vary by region and condition. [Elektroda, arshanter, post #16891209]

Is the fault visible in BIOS or only in Windows?

It showed in BIOS and at the Lenovo boot logo for the OP, indicating a hardware issue rather than a driver problem. [Elektroda, Pabloku, post #16687980]

Did the fix hold up over time?

Yes. After replacement, one poster reported three months of trouble‑free use, suggesting a stable fix when the panel was at fault. [Elektroda, Pabloku, post #16891090]

What symptoms did others see besides a pink screen?

Reports included a greenish tint, ghost images from the previous day at startup, and white horizontal stripes during fast image changes. [Elektroda, arshanter, post #16889658]

Is the factory panel IPS and Full HD on the Y50‑70?

Participants confirmed their original panels were IPS Full HD and shared photos of the label for reference. Always verify yours by sticker. [Elektroda, Pabloku, post #16890525]

Will a replacement panel change how photos look?

One user noticed more vivid colors but also saw image imperfections more clearly, likely due to contrast and sharpness differences. [Elektroda, arshanter, post #16890831]

Quick 3‑step: how do I swap the panel safely?

  1. Test on HDMI to confirm the iGPU outputs a clean image.
  2. Remove bezel, read the sticker PN, and check the 30‑pin eDP cable.
  3. Replace cable if suspect; otherwise install the matching panel. “Start with the wire.” [Elektroda, Przemko21, post #16688632]

Do I need to move the lid to reproduce the fault?

Not always. One user saw no change when moving the screen, yet the panel was faulty and replacement fixed it. [Elektroda, Pabloku, post #16688006]

Which model would you pick between LG LP156WF4 (SP)(L1) and AUO B156HAN01.2?

The thread documents a successful, durable fix using AUO B156HAN01.2, with improved perceived image quality after install. [Elektroda, Pabloku, post #16706554]

Any statistic from this thread that helps decide?

A concrete data point: one buyer paid 240 zł for a working matte IPS replacement that resolved the fault. [Elektroda, arshanter, post #16891209]
