Does your friend use English navigation?
If I need to, I use devices in the languages that are available, if I do not understand, I am looking for another device / software.

They don't have PL menu on the website anyway.
The Polish market is apparently not so big that the producer would make Polish.
In fact, it's the producer's business what and how it will do.
The more I would not trust home translation, because there are mistakes in the factory.

In my profession, using diagnostic and programming equipment, I can't imagine a language other than pure technical English

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around changing the language of the RNS 310 radio and on-board computer in a 2010 VW Passat Diesel to Polish. The original poster, Zdzisław, seeks assistance after purchasing the vehicle from France, where the Polish language option is unavailable. Responses highlight concerns about the quality and safety of unofficial software found online, suggesting that many such programs can damage the navigation system. Participants recommend seeking professional services for installation, with costs ranging from PLN 300-500 for the menu and maps, and warn against using unreliable sources that may lead to expensive repairs. The conversation also notes that the navigation system is manufactured by Blaupunkt, not VW, and that Polish language support was not a requirement for models prior to 2013.

FAQ

TL;DR: For a VW Passat 2010 with RNS 310, typical pro install of Polish menu + voice + maps costs PLN 300–500; “These hamster softs damage the radio.” [Elektroda, SZYMON BYDGOSZCZ, post #16753381]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps RNS 310 owners avoid bricking units and choose a safe, cost‑effective Polish language upgrade.

Quick Facts

How do I change my RNS 310 to Polish safely?

Choose a reputable factory navigation service. They upload the Polish menu and voice pack, then verify functionality. This avoids risky home-brew files that can brick units. Expect a straightforward appointment and testing afterward. [Elektroda, mobista, post #16752261]

Is there any free Polish menu download for RNS 310?

No. A forum expert states: “There is no and there will be no free software up to 310 on the network.” Budget for a paid service instead. [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #16746667]

Are Chomikuj/“hamster” files safe for RNS 310?

No. Users report those uploads are designed to break navigation, leading to paid repairs. Avoid them to protect your radio and data. [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #16747271]

How much does a professional Polish menu installation cost?

Reported pricing for RNS 310 is PLN 300–500 for menu, lector, and map. Ask for a written quote and warranty before flashing. [Elektroda, SZYMON BYDGOSZCZ, post #16753381]

What does a failed flash or bricked unit cost to fix?

Repairs after bad “hamster” software can run PLN 500–700. This often exceeds a proper install’s price. Plan accordingly. [Elektroda, SZYMON BYDGOSZCZ, post #16753381]

Who makes the RNS 310, and is Polish officially supported?

A user notes Blaupunkt makes the unit and claims cars after 2013 must have a PL menu. Treat this as a user report. [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #16748466]

Should I just use English or German instead of Polish?

Some users rely on English or German and warn against unverified translations. Using stock languages avoids risky flashes. [Elektroda, nici, post #16748448]

What’s the fastest safe path to get Polish today?

Book a recognized factory navigation service. Their tooling and experience reduce errors and turnaround time. Bring the car and unit details. [Elektroda, mobista, post #16752261]

Can I DIY the language change without pro tools?

Technically possible, but risky. Forum reports link pirate packages to damaged navigation. DIY attempts can escalate costs fast. [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #16747271]

Is English already available on the RNS 310?

Yes. A user highlights that devices offer English or German, and they manage fine with those options. [Elektroda, nici, post #16748428]

3-step How-To: get Polish on RNS 310 responsibly

  1. Find a trusted factory navigation service and request Polish menu + lector.
  2. Confirm price, backup procedure, and warranty before flashing.
  3. After install, test radio, navigation, and voice prompts on-site. [Elektroda, mobista, post #16752261]
