Hello, I have no idea why this happens every day, my battery is consumed by 3% during the night and for this reason it also gets damaged - as indicated by the Battery Bar program / until I just started taking out the batteries /.
In bios, I turned off the USB option completely because in the laptop it is possible to charge, for example, a phone with the laptop turned off with a yellow USB, as long as it was connected to the socket, so I thought it might be it.
The operating system is also already checked Windows 7 or 10, no difference in the power settings, I did not rummage the standard settings

because of this, it also deteriorates

    How?
It is natural that the cells are discharged.

After all, the 3V / 5V converter and others work all the time. Everything is fine. Even when the battery is removed from the laptop, it will discharge after several dozen days, because its controller is still powered, not to mention the self-discharge phenomenon.

Exactly that everything is not in the best order because it cannot be that at 11 p.m. you turn off the laptop with 100% of the battery and at 5 in the morning it is 97% and the battery bar program shows me more percent of the battery consumption every few days, so after half a year it will blow my batteries halfway ? I agree with you that after a few days the battery is removed and discharged, but for me, when I put it in the next day, these few days will never happen.

And you think how much can modern batteries last? Up to a year's time and links to throw away. If you want to extend the battery life, charge it to the level of 60-80% and take it out of the laptop when you are not using it.

Don't you ever use hybrid sleep mode? Both Windows 7 and Windows 10 go to sleep by default, and do not turn off after pressing the power button ... These 3% will only be 100%, later it will "fall" slower. This is normal. If you are not using the laptop, you can leave it connected to the power supply, then it will not discharge the battery and even compensate for self-discharge of the cells. The battery can withstand about 500 charging cycles (but the cycle is a discharge from 100% to 10%, it can be divided into parts, such 3% does not do much harm).

I have a very similar problem with my ThinPad, it can discharge the battery to zero when turned off for 3-4 days. However, I noticed that when I turn it off by holding the power button, even after 7 days the battery has over 90%. I checked the settings in the bios and turned off all support and monitoring modes, unfortunately Win10 is still a devilish tool for me and I am convinced that the problem is on the system side.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the Lenovo X220 laptop experiencing battery drain even when powered off, with users noting a 3% loss overnight. The issue is attributed to the laptop's internal components, such as the 3V/5V converter, which continue to draw power. Users suggest that modern batteries can self-discharge over time, and recommend maintaining battery levels between 60-80% when not in use to prolong lifespan. Some users mention the impact of hybrid sleep mode in Windows 7 and 10, which may prevent complete shutdown. One user reports a similar issue with a ThinkPad, indicating potential system-related causes for battery drain.
