If he would have an external power supply, why would he need a USB control? This system only takes + 5V from USB.
So with USB it would only be blocking lighting when the TV is turned off.
Maybe it would be better to use audio or video outputs from the EURO, AUDIO or RGB connectors. Of course, this would require either interference with the power supply system or making a circuit board on the power supply OUT cable, which through the transistor would change the resistance in series with the power supply of the switched transistor to the sound or image. The diodes will dim more or less.
I realize that the author of the topic can expect more simple solutions, but his initial intentions to use the TV as a + 5V power supply is economically unjustified. It would be the most expensive power supply in the house.
