    Hello, venerable forum users :)

I need to connect external roller blinds to external roller blinds. I tested them on one Geze switch and it's ok, i.e. they work, but the problem is that I'm a layman when it comes to electrics. In the Geze switch I had everything marked with symbols. "L", "N" and grounding and there are two free directions, ie opening and closing of the roller shutter. And everything was clear to me :) However, I only had one such switch, so I bought another one to have all the same.
    Below photos of the switch

Now the diagram on the switch:

and photos of cable connections from above (those on the left are empty, we won't connect anything there)

    and from below:

4 cables come out of the blinds
    blue - neutral
    yellow-green - grounding
    spells and brown - directional

And now my question ... where do I have which cable to connect and where should I connect the main power supply, i.e. the phase?

Blue and yellow-green from the roller shutters, you connect the connection block, apart from the switch, with the appropriate wires from the power supply. You plug the phase into L, and the directional one in AUF and AB. If the operation is inconsistent with the markings of the switch flap - the black and brown wires must be swapped.

And thank you very much for your quick reply :D
In that Geze switch I had room for all the cables, and here I didn't have room for all of them :|
However, since two cables are connected beyond the switch, it's all clear.
    Thanks again @ stanislaw1954

I warmly welcome. And I have a question about the jumper - should it stay or should it be removed?

Why do you think the manufacturer installed it?

    Idea.
Everything is drawn on the switch.

    Support question:
What is the point of installing something that is to be disassembled by the manufacturer?

    Hint:
Disassemble and see for yourself how it works.
You will have an answer to your question.

Ok. It cannot be disassembled because it will not work.

    You see.
It was not possible right away instead of asking questions in the museum thread?

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around connecting external roller blinds to an Elektro-Plast switch, comparing it with a Geze switch. The user successfully tested the roller blinds with a Geze switch, which had clear markings for connections (L, N, and grounding) and directional controls for opening and closing. However, upon acquiring a new switch, the user faced challenges due to limited space for cable connections. A helpful response provided guidance on connecting the blue and yellow-green wires from the roller shutters to the power supply, emphasizing the importance of connecting the phase to L and directional wires to AUF and AB. Additional queries about a jumper on the switch led to discussions about its purpose and the importance of understanding the switch's design.

FAQ

TL;DR: To wire an Elektro‑Plast shutter switch: feed phase to “L”, neutral/earth to an external block, and the two motor directions to “AUF” and “AB”; swap black/brown if travel is reversed. Statistic: the motor lead has 4 wires. “You plug the phase into L.” [Elektroda, stanislaw1954, post #16746613]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps DIYers and installers connect external roller blinds safely when moving from a Geze-labelled switch to an Elektro‑Plast unit.

Quick Facts

How do I wire an Elektro‑Plast roller shutter switch to a 230 V tubular motor?

Bring the supply phase to L. Connect the motor’s two direction leads to AUF and AB. Route neutral (blue) and earth (yellow‑green) to a separate terminal block outside the switch. Energizing AUF drives one direction; AB drives the other. “You plug the phase into L.” [Elektroda, stanislaw1954, post #16746613]

Where do neutral and earth connect if my Elektro‑Plast switch has no N/PE terminals?

Terminate the motor’s blue (N) and yellow‑green (PE) conductors together with the supply neutral and earth in an external connector block. The switch only switches the phase to AUF or AB; it does not provide N/PE studs. [Elektroda, stanislaw1954, post #16746613]

What do AUF and AB mean on the shutter switch?

They are the two directional outputs from the switch. AUF sends phase to one motor winding (one travel), AB sends phase to the other winding (opposite travel). Wire each to the matching motor lead. [Elektroda, stanislaw1954, post #16746613]

My shutter runs opposite to the rocker labels. How do I fix direction?

Swap the two motor direction wires on AUF and AB (commonly black and brown). This reverses which winding receives phase and aligns motion with the switch flap arrows. [Elektroda, stanislaw1954, post #16746613]

Do I keep or remove the factory jumper on the Elektro‑Plast switch?

Keep it. The jumper links internal contacts so the switch can route phase to AUF or AB correctly. Removing it stops the control from working. “It cannot be disassembled because it will not work.” [Elektroda, mario7621, post #18586524]

How does wiring differ between a Geze switch and an Elektro‑Plast unit?

Your Geze had marked L, N, and ground terminals onboard. The Elektro‑Plast switch provides L plus AUF/AB only, so neutral and earth must be joined externally in a connector block. The two direction leads still land on AUF and AB. [Elektroda, andy1251, post #16746553]

Quick 3‑step: how do I test the wiring before mounting the switch?

  1. De‑energize circuit; land phase on L and motor leads on AUF/AB; join N/PE in a separate block.
  2. Energize; tap AUF. The shutter should move one way.
  3. Tap AB. If motion is reversed vs. labels, swap the two direction leads. [Elektroda, stanislaw1954, post #16746613]

What current do typical 230 V tubular motors draw?

Example spec: a Somfy CSI50 Helios 30/17 motor is rated 1.1 A at 230 V. Use a switch and circuit sized accordingly. This offers a sanity check during testing and helps select overcurrent protection. [Somfy CSI50 Helios 30/17 Tubular Motor]

What happens if I remove the jumper anyway?

The switch loses its internal link and will not route phase to AUF/AB, so the shutter will not operate. Refit the jumper to restore function. [Elektroda, mario7621, post #18586524]

Can I use the same guidance for multiple shutters on different windows?

Yes. Repeat the same L to phase, AUF/AB to directions, and external N/PE block per window. Do not share one switch across two motors. Wire each motor to its own interlocked control. [Elektroda, stanislaw1954, post #16746613]

What is Tuya?

Tuya is a global IoT platform provider that enables brands and developers to build and manage connected devices and apps. It underpins many smart‑home shutter controls and hubs. [Tuya Inc.]

What is an Arduino Nano?

Arduino Nano is a compact, breadboard‑friendly microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P. It’s often used to prototype low‑voltage control logic or sensors alongside mains‑rated shutter relays. [Arduino Nano]

What is OpenBeken?

OpenBeken is an open‑source firmware replacing Tasmota/ESPHome on BK7231 and similar Wi‑Fi chips. It enables custom automation on many smart switches and modules. [GitHub - codekow/OpenBeken]

What is a CAN bus?

CAN bus is a differential, multi‑master serial bus designed by Bosch for robust ECU communications. You may encounter it in advanced building controls, though simple shutter switches don’t use it. [CAN bus]
